If you’re old enough, how were you affected by 9/11?

@top fans For the next week I will be focusing much of this page on the history of 9/11. 💔 As a history professor I full understand the gravity of that day. I recall lecturing on the Taliban and Al-Qaeda before 9/11 ever happened. Warning my students about how dangerous they are.

I am putting out a rare two videos in two days series.

Today is the original video I planned to put out. It debunks the many myths of 9/11 that have emerged on social media over the last 25 years.

Tomorrow, I am putting out a shorter video that I hope helps many families. How to talk to your kids about 9/11

Now more than ever history matters. I hope you will all help me reach many more people with these two videos. Share them with friends, family, and homeschool or other student groups you are in.

Did someone say it's September? It surely has not felt like it with these 90°+ temperatures. We are ready for cooler weather and some fall fun.

Good evening Pirates,
Due to continued monitoring of weather and road conditions, Shepherd ISD will operate on a 2-hour delayed start on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. This delay allows additional time for travel conditions to improve while prioritizing the safety of our students and staff. All campuses will begin the school day two hours later than normal, and bus routes will also run two hours later than their usual schedule: All campuses - Start time @ 9:45am
We will continue to monitor conditions throughout the morning and will communicate any additional updates as needed. Please continue to watch official Shepherd ISD communication channels for the latest information.

Due to the inclement weather conditions, Shepherd ISD will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, September 1st.
