The Deep Time Walk slated for tomorrow (April 18) has been rescheduled.
*************

You are invited to a Deep Time Walk at Nicholdale Farm
As part of Earth Day Week - Saturday May 16. We will meet at 9am at the parking lot on Leavenworth Road.

What is a Deep Time Walk?
A Deep Time Walk is a transformative journey through 4.6 billion years of Earth history via a 4.6 kilometer guided walk (about 3 miles). Each meter of the walk represents 1 million years in the history of our planet. Each millimeter a thousand years. Starting with the formation of Earth 4600 million years ago, we will walk through time visiting major milestones in the evoluiton of Gaia, our living planet. It is an invitation to view the world differently, encouraging positive action and advocacy for a regenerative Earth.

The walk will be lead by board member Bruce Nichols a trained Deep Time Walk facilitator. Bruce has previously lead walks at Nicholdale Farm and also at Sticks and Stones Farm in Newtown.

The walk will take between 2 1/2 and 3 hours. Wear sturdy, comfortable shoes. Bring water and a snack.

On Wednesday March 25 the Shelton Planning and Zoning Commission heard comments on a zone change for the property on Leavenworth Road that was Guy's Eco Garden. Guy and the Shelton Land Trust were long time friends and collaborated on educational programs about organic gardening. Many Shelton residents spoke to this issue and the meeting will continue on Wednesday April 8. The photos accompaning this post show the SLCT letter that is part of the record of the meeting. You can watch the proceedings relating to this agenda item but using the YouTube link below. It will open at the point in the meeting that the Beardsley property is considered. The Shelton Land Trust will be back at the April 8 meeting and we encourage friends of conservation and preservation of farmland to come out and join us. The meeting will take place on Wednesday April 8 at 6pm at City Hall.
