Chartered 15 June 1951, the Shelton Rotary Club meets 1st, 3rd and 4th Thursdays at CJ’s at noon.

Shelton Rotary on May 21st met at Railroad Tap Station and it was all about ways to give back. Tamra and Tammy from Peacemakers discussed Democrats and Republicans working together for common good in Mason County through civic civility and community outreach. They have four events scheduled in upcoming months:
1) Blood drive June 16 at Faith Lutheran through Bloodworks
2) Food drive June 24 - July 15 to support at risk high school students
3) Picnic in August
4) Stand Down event collecting coats, gas cards and other essentials to help veterans

We also learned about a Resource Fair being held at Faith Lutheran gym from 4-7pm on June 9 with a dinner at 5pm.

Two Fridays a month at the Huff and Puff trail, Rotarians collect trash and help keep the trail beautiful for everyone to enjoy.

Today at Shelton Rotary, Pennye Nixon of Etta Projects spoke about the wonderful work they are doing in Bolivia helping educate communities about clean water, sanitation and building compostable toilets for families. Education about women's health and hygiene, safety, empowerment for women and teens progresses through peer led education. Rotary continues to support this important work. Want to learn more? Today April 2nd at Shelton Rotary we met at our new location, Railroad Tap Station at 12 noon. We were fortunate to have Rob Coleman from Skookum Rotary as a guest discussing upcoming work days at Huff & Puff trail and Veteran's Village. Pam Schaffer, Assistant District Governor, talked about additional area Rotary groups and ways they are supporting and making a difference in their communities through volunteer work and fundraising. Pam swore in our new President, Tamre Parham, for her term leading Shelton Rotary. Rose sales are upon us so find a Rotary member to purchase your beautiful dozen. Hope to see some new prospective members on April 16th. Come check us out!

Shelton Rotary this week had the opportunity to hear Ava from Sound Learning speak about what services they provide to benefit our community. They help improve adult literacy, education toward a GED or diploma, and career readiness making an impact in Shelton.

Our regular Shelton Rotary meeting spot at CJ's has now become an ice cream parlor starting March 28th! We wish them much success in this expansion.

Local singer, songwriter, teacher and promising new author Hilary Scott shared her music performance adventures with Shelton Rotary members today. If you want to learn more about our community, the people in it and ways you can engage, join us.

Incoming Shelton Rotary president Tami Reed discussed her learning and networking from a Rotary conference she attended recently, plus opened a conversation regarding ways our club can help grow, strengthen and extend its reach in our community.
Be on the lookout for the annual rose sale in mid April. Ask a Rotary member how you can purchase a dozen (or more) beautiful roses.

Today at Shelton Rotary, Membership Chair Pam Shaffer presented new member Michelle Emdicott (pictured along with sponsor Victoria Meadows) a membership pin and certificate. Ask a Rotarian to bring you to a meeting so you can see what Rotarians do in our community and world wide.

Today's Shelton Rotary meeting featured recognition of new members, a tasty lunch and a presentation by "Be a Better You" counseling about the important work they are doing focused primarily with the unhoused population in Mason County. A very hopeful talk regarding progress made and success stories within our community. Shelton Rotary is proud to learn about and support these efforts.
