This week will be full of NEW Challenges like kayaking and yoga. And, we won't be letting London have all the fun with the Summer Olympics. We're bringing some of the competitive spirit to Shawnee with games that are

ON-STAGE - This is the perfect week to unleash your talents for an adoring audience as you create characters, dream your scene and perform your play for friends and parents. Perhaps you're thinking, "I'm too shy!" Well don't worry, there are all kinds of people who work on plays and all hands are needed. So, come and add your talents to the show!! WEEK 2 (Monday, June 25 - Friday June, 29):
SPORTS & FITNESS - Fitness, exercising and games will all be a part of this energy burning week. Begin the day with stretching and exercises followed by games of basketball, soccer and kickball. Wear tennis shoes and shorts be ready to be active! Learn about which muscles you use along the way as you track your fitness progress. SCRAPBOOKING 101 - Are you a creative person? If you would like to show off your favorite pictures by adding stickers, messages, cutting and posting the pictures to a decorative page, then this is the week for you! Everyone will create their own scrapbook. So bring along your favorite photos of memories you treasure and we'll turn them into a keepsake. Make your own special tie-dye t-shirt mid-week. SUPER SCIENCE SMORGASBORD - Fireworks may be on your schedule for the Fourth of July, but the explosions don't have to end there! Super Science Smorgasbord comes to the rescue! Join us for an exciting week sure to please the most curious scientist! We will explore different branches of science as we mix, build, and blast our way through this exciting camp. WEEK 4 (Monday, July 9 - Friday, July 13):
WILDERNESS, WINGS & WRIGGLERS! - Join us for a week long outdoors experience that breaks down the boundaries between yourself and the natural world. We will develop skills such as being nature detectives, identifying local plants, trees, birds and animals while learning about wilderness survival! Not quite "Man vs. Wild," but most definitely an exciting week with lots of exposure to the Great Outdoors and a chance to take things home to share! WEEK 5 (Monday, July 16 - Friday, July 20):
MODERN ART MADNESS - Art that puzzles, moves AND you can wear? Get ready for a week of creative adventures as we explore Modern Art with sculpture, paint, photography, and even trash! Each day we will introduce a new technique for you to investigate ways to being your ideas to life! At the week's end we will showcase our talent with an art exhibition for our community that will help curate. Look out MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) here we come! HOME BASE: Tecumseh Commons

MONDAY CREEK WATERSHED CAMP - This week-long camp includes full days of hands-on activities that teach about fish, stream ecology, acid mind drainage and the natural history of the area where we live. Includes field trip mid-to-late week. The camp starts each day in NEW STRAITSVILLE, but transportation will be available from Shawnee for students who pre-register. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS CAMP. LIMITED SPACE IS AVAILABLE.
