Project: SAFE Project: Safe is a non-profit agency that provides services to men, women, and children who are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking.

Our Mission is to provide Advocacy for Safety, Empowerment, Healing and Freedom from Abuse. Project Safe offers services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties. Some services we offer are:

We're hiring for a Shelter Advocate position!

Details:
Part-Time up to 24 hours per week. Shifts needed: Weekends and Nights.
$16-18/hr, high school diploma or GED required. Ongoing degree work preferred.
Must be able to pass a national background check (non-negotiable).
Must have basic knowledge of the effects of domestic violence and demonstrate skill in crisis intervention.
Must have a current driver's license and own transportation.

Position Summary:
Provide crisis intervention services via the crisis line to those in need. Provide face-to-face crisis intervention to those people requesting sheltering services. Complete initial assessments for admission status of those seeking sheltering. Provide continual advocacy, support, and guidance to adult and juvenile residents of the shelter facility.

Essential Functions:
Being in a stationary position for extended periods, which includes driving long distances to meet with clients.
Occasionally lifting donations or client items weighing up to 25 pounds.
Being accessible for on-call rotation, which includes overnight and weekend shifts.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine and computer printer.
The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand, specifically in crisis situations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
Able to manage and prioritize one's own workload with minimal supervision.

We have exciting news! Project: SAFE is very pleased to bring an experienced, passionate and motivated professional on board with our agency in June. Please help us welcome Sandy Vanderburg as our incoming Executive Director of Project: SAFE! Sandy comes with a wealth of knowledge of the nonprofit sector and a phenomenal community presence. We are excited to have her join our team to serve victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and dating violence in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties.

Our current Executive Director, Renée Clemmons, will be transitioning into a new role at our agency and will provide guidance and direction as we move Project: SAFE forward. We have a lot planned for the agency and we are excited to grow our team! Please help us in welcoming Sandy!
