Good Evening,
On behalf of his family, I would like to share some information on how to say goodbye to our very own Bryan Foster. Please remember that this is a very hard time for everyone. Help lift each other up, help keep eachother strong, and be the shoulder for others to cry on. Each and every one of you is appreciated, dont be afraid to lean on eachother for support.

Somber greetings to all. This post is coming from your newly appointed PR Development person, Nikolijah Pearson. It is both with a heavy heart and with honor beyond words for my first act as your board member to inform you of a specialty GM meeting Thursday, April 30th. The only agenda item for this meeting is to vote on whether or both the chapter would like to donate funds to Lucina Lynch to aid in funeral costs for our very own Bryan Foster. We are unsure if the meeting will be in person or on zoom, but I will be sure to get that information to you as soon as I can. I truly wish this was under better circumstances, but I am excited to work with all of you as a board member.

There are moments in life when words never feel like enough, and this is one of them.

On Friday, April 24th at the Chaska American Legion from 6:00–10:00 PM, we’re coming together for a benefit fundraiser dinner and silent auction in honor of Bryan, an incredible man who touched more lives than he probably ever realized. His kindness, his presence, and the way he showed up for people will never be forgotten.

This evening is about more than just raising funds it’s about showing up for his wife and family the same way he showed up for so many of us. It’s about community, love, and carrying forward the impact he made.

If you’re able, please come out, share a meal, bid in the auction, and stand alongside others who were lucky enough to know him. Every bit of support helps ease the burden on his family during this incredibly difficult time.

Let’s honor Bryan the best way we know how together. ❤️

If you would like to donate an item or service to the silent auction, it would be deeply appreciated. Every contribution helps make a difference for his family during this difficult time.

Please feel free to reach out to Lizzy Bybee

Keep our Business Development Director Bryan Foster and his fiance Lucina Lynch and their family in your thoughts.

Words from Luci....
Bryan is still in critical condition but stable. He experienced a seizure and a lack of oxygen, which caused a brain injury. Right now, he is sedated and on a ventilator so his body can rest and heal. We won’t know more until the 72-hour mark—it’s a waiting game.

We’re in the MICU at HCMC (7th floor). Visiting hours are 8am–10pm. Immediate family will have priority, and we’re asking for only 1–2 visitors at a time.

Please, if you come, come with love and positive energy for Bryan and our family. Otherwise, we ask that you keep him in your thoughts and prayers from home.

Thank you for all the support—it truly means everything right now.

We’re back with Board of Directors introductions!!

We want to introduce our Business Development VP, Tina Jovaag! She's been a member for 13 years!

JCI has helped Tina discover strengths she didn’t know she had, but what matters most to her is the people. The friendships here have shaped who she is today.

She’s focused on continuing to grow this year and mentoring the next leader to step into her role. Her biggest support is Natazzia. "No matter what, she is always there to listen, whether I need to vent or plan our next adventure."

She started her journey with the Highway Cleanup project. Looking forward to the pool social this summer (more info coming) and is eager to learn more about the behind the scenes of Fest!

She’s a stay-at-home mom to three beautiful girls but she also serves on the JCI Minnesota Board of Directors.

The mantra she lives by:
“In my 900 years of space and time, I’ve never met anyone who wasn’t important.”

We’re lucky to have her 💙

Did you know that April is National Volunteer Month?

April is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating volunteers and the impact they make in their communities. It’s a time to highlight the power of service, leadership, and people coming together to create positive change.

At JCI Shakopee, that’s exactly what we’re about. Our mission is to provide leadership development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change. We do that through volunteering, running community projects, and stepping into roles that challenge us to grow.

National Volunteer Month is a reminder that every hour given, every event supported, and every leader who steps up makes a difference. What may feel small in the moment adds up to something much bigger for our community.

To our members, thank you for showing up, putting in the work, and continuing to lead by example! If you’ve been thinking about getting involved, there’s no better time to start.

Be the change. Be the leader. Be a volunteer.
