With heavy hearts, the JCI family mourns the passing of our dear friend and member, Cameron Koester.

Cameron joined our chapter as a dual member with the Lakes Area Jaycees quickly making a lasting impression on everyone they met. They brought unmatched warmth to our group; always greeting people with a broad smile, giving the absolute best hugs, and striking up deep conversations within minutes of finding a shared interest. They truly opened doors and brought our community closer together.

We appreciate your patience with the delay of this announcement, especially as many of our members are currently working at the Renaissance Festival.

Rest in peace, Cameron. May the universe be your stage.

With our busy schedule in full swing we just wanted to give you a little reminder because I think a lot of us need it sometimes:

Burnout doesn't always look like completely falling apart. Sometimes it looks like being exhausted no matter how much you sleep. Getting irritated over little things. Forgetting things you normally wouldn't. Feeling overwhelmed by simple tasks. Losing motivation for things you normally love. Feeling like you're constantly doing something but somehow never getting anything done.

Sometimes you don't realize how burnt out you are until your body and brain basically start screaming at you to stop. You are allowed to rest before you reach your breaking point. You are allowed to say no. You are allowed to ask for help. You are allowed to put something down and come back to it later. You don't have to earn rest by completely exhausting yourself first.

Check in with yourself. Drink some water. Eat something comforting. Go outside for a little while. Take a nap. Put your phone down. Do something that has absolutely no productive purpose other than making you happy.

Whatever needs to get done will still be there. You matter too. ❤️
