Welcome to The Isaac Initiative! We're a 501c nonprofit dedicated to providing professional photography services to families with loved ones who have been diagnosed with terminal illness. The families we serve never receive a bill. The Isaac Initiative began with a little boy named Isaac Martindale. Described by many as the bravest, most loving little boy, Isaac was also known for singing church h
ymns long after the song was over, bringing laughter and joy to those around him. Isaac also had several health issues; shortly after birth, he experienced a severe fever that left him with brain damage and neurological disorders. In his final days, I was invited to Isaac’s home to take family photos and capture special moments shared between him and his siblings. I planned on visiting for about 60 minutes, but ended up staying over 5 hours. I will never forget the warmth his family showed me. Isaac passed away less than 24 hours after our photo session. He was 6 years old. Isaac was unable to speak, but it didn’t matter – he changed my life without saying a single word. Words cannot describe how important photos can be to a family experiencing the grief of losing a loved one. Many families in need of photos face serious financial hardship from medical bills and other expenses, and don’t have the resources to put towards a professional photographer; that’s where we come in. As a not for profit, we rely on the generosity of others to continue our mission. Your support and donations help us continue operating, but more importantly, provide photographs and memories for families in need. Your donations go to covering website hosting services, legal fees, photobooks, and other annual operating expenses. Our organization is made up solely of volunteers, none of the donations go towards wages of any kind. Thank you for visiting. We appreciate your support – large or small, your contribution helps us help others. If you (or someone you know) are in need of our services, don’t hesitate to contact us. -Joseph, Founder
