Today's Scott County City Spotlight is on Prior Lake!

Great parks. Beautiful lakes. A downtown with actual personality. Prior Lake checks a lot of boxes — which is probably why nearly every resident says they love living there.

Upper and Lower Prior Lake are among the metro's most popular spots for boating, fishing, and soaking up a Minnesota summer — and with miles of trails connecting it all, it's an outdoor lover's dream.

The city is also home to the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community and Mystic Lake Casino, one of the biggest tribal gaming destinations in the country. The downtown keeps growing — new restaurants, a brewery, and fresh commercial developments joining the local boutiques and bakeries that give Prior Lake its charm.

We are excited to announce that the Scott County Library will be bringing back the Readmobile this summer for monthly visits at Fountain Park!

The Readmobile provides free snacks, fun activities, and books to borrow for all ages. It’s a great way to enjoy summer reading and connect with the community.
