Fern Hollow Nature Center There is so much to discover, learn and explore! The Fern Hollow Nature Center is a place where individuals, groups and families can come to enjoy the outdoors.

At Fern Hollow Nature Center, our mission is to inspire people of all ages to connect with nature through hands-on education and exploration of the Sewickley Valley parks. It is also the gateway to the area park system. Educational programs are both organized and spontaneous and are aimed at helping children and adults understand and appreciate the environment. c and is an accessible facility. There is an indoor assembly area which will accommodate 40 people, a catering kitchen and two restrooms. Immediately adjacent to the Center is a small parking area. Outdoors, there is a plateau – an ideal place for camping, football, kite flying or star gazing. There is a sloping field with paths for walking, sledding, bird watching and observing insects. Within a short distance, is the vast Sewickley Heights Borough Park and various creeks, such as Fern Hollow and Little Sewickley Creek.

It takes a village to put on a good hoedown! Today we’d like to thank our Saddle Up Soirée Host Committee, who have been spreading the word near and far about our event on June 12. Thanks to these gracious Fern Hollow supporters, the Saddle Up Soirée will sell out for the fourth year in a row.
The funds raised at our annual soirée are essential to the annual budget of our neighborhood nature center. Every dollar raised at the Saddle Up Soirée helps deliver fun, nature-filled education to cowpokes of all ages—sparking curiosity, teaching care for the land, and growing a lifelong love for the great outdoors.
