Did a couple “sessions” this month as part of the SHRuBS mission to keeps the roads in our neighborhood as beautiful as possible. Spent a couple of hours cleaning up the ALT Meadow View property on Scaife. A lot easier to attack since the major clean up a while back. Should have the job 100% complete within a couple weeks. let me know if you want to join us at some point to help this weekend!

Hello, my SHRuBS friends! I'm writing to ask for help this weekend as members of the board and other friends of the Fern Hollow Nature Center are get together on Earth Day to clean and tidy up their outdoor classroom space. There is PLENTY to do, so we're looking for any happy laborers we can find including those who are willing to bring their toys, including tractors, chainsaws and, as Arlo Guhthrie would say, "...shovels and rakes and inplements of distruction". If I am not mistaken, refreshments including beers and food will be provided in the late afternoon fr those who lend a hand. We're starting around 11am. Come for an hour, come for the day, just come! We could REALLY use you. Thanks in advance, Lindsey

While I managed to put in a few evenings' work last week on the Meadowview project (with the help of Vic Moran and his tractor), this past Saturday represented the second big push on the property. Thank you in particular to Paul H., Michael B., Tom P., Kurt C. and Enrico D. who put in a major effort and to Will S. who killed it with the brush hog at the end of our afternoon. One more day and we should be ready to move on, if all goes well.. Stay tuned for the full "after" pics album. And if you missed us again this past weekend, don't fret - we'll be back at it soon!
