🇺🇸💜Last night was a very special evening as the City of Sedro-Woolley took an important first step toward becoming a Purple Heart City with the official Purple Heart City Proclamation. We were honored to have Purple Heart recipients and veterans join us, along with our special guest, Robert Olivarez Jr., Past National Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart of the USA.

We were also grateful to receive a beautiful hand-carved Purple Heart created by Tim Smith, which will hang in City Hall alongside the proclamation.

In collaboration with Senator Keith Wagoner and American Legion George Baldridge Post 43, we are proud to make this commitment to honor those who earned the Purple Heart and ensure their sacrifice and legacy are never forgotten. We look forward to our Purple Heart City ceremony in November.

🔥 HELP OUR NEIGHBORS AFFECTED BY THE SPOKANE WILDFIRES ❤️

When disaster strikes, firefighters know that it takes more than emergency responders to help a community recover. It takes neighbors helping neighbors.

Two of our own full-time firefighters, Firefighter Paramedic Jake Braaten and Firefighter EMT Dillon Russell, came up with the idea to organize a donation drive to support those impacted by the devastating wildfires in the Spokane area.

We’re asking our community to come together and help provide much-needed supplies to individuals and families who have been affected by these fires.

📦 A flyer with the specific items needed, as well as drop-off locations, dates, and times, is attached to this post.

If you’re able to donate, even a small contribution can make a meaningful difference for someone who has lost so much.

Thank you to Jake and Dillon for taking the initiative to turn an idea into action, and thank you to our community for always stepping up when our neighbors need us most.

Let’s show Spokane that when disaster strikes, we stand together. ❤️‍🔥
