Rounding out our panelist lineup for "Women Who Shaped Lackawanna County": Laura Ducceschi. 🌟

Laura has served as President and CEO of the Scranton Area Community Foundation since 2012. Under her leadership, the Foundation has grown to steward more than $100 million in charitable assets and more than 450 charitable funds, and has launched collaborative initiatives spanning nonprofit leadership, women and girls, transportation, animal welfare, and workforce development.

Laura is a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) and Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE), with an MBA from Drexel University and an MA in Communication from the University of Pennsylvania.

Meet another one of our "Women Who Shaped Lackawanna County" panelists: Cathy Chamoni. 🌟

Cathy is a lifelong Scranton-area community leader with a career spanning Bethlehem Steel, Lever Brothers, and Commonwealth Telephone Enterprises. She holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of Scranton and an MSIA/MBA from Carnegie Mellon.

She's been active with the Century Club of Scranton since 2011, serves on the Board of the NEPA Philharmonic League, and has supported Women in Philanthropy since 2022 as a grant evaluator and ambassador.

Sarah has served as Assistant Director of The Lackawanna Historical Society since 2013. As a public historian, her research has taken her from the struggles of industrial labor history into women's history, with a bit of fashion history thrown in for fun!

A highlight of the night was hearing from Matched Savings Program graduates—Amanda Petrizzo, Samiah Pacheco, and Alice Cupelli—whose hard work and determination helped them reach milestones such as buying a home and paying down debt.

Step back into a powerful chapter of history on June 8 as Women in Philanthropy and The Lackawanna Historical Society present an evening dedicated to the women’s suffrage movement and the story of the Justice Bell. 🔔

This community event will feature a screening of "Finding Justice: The Untold Story of Women’s Fight for the Vote," a compelling documentary about the women who traveled across all 67 Pennsylvania counties in 1915 advocating for voting rights.

Guests will also enjoy a live Q&A with filmmaker and Justice Bell Foundation Executive Director Amanda Owen, along with complimentary light refreshments.
