Scottville is part of larger conversation for a multi-use trail that is being proposed throughout sections of Mason County. Eventually the trail would link DDowntown Scottvilleinto the Hart/Montague trail and provide a safe route along the US10 corridor linking Scottville.
The Mason County Multiuse Trails (MCMUT) Task Force is a community-driven partnership working to expand and connect a network of safe, accessible, and enjoyable trails throughout Mason County. Bringing together local governments, community organizations, businesses, and residents, the Task Force supports trail planning, development, and funding efforts that enhance opportunities for walking, biking, outdoor recreation, and non-motorized transportation. By creating connections between communities, parks, schools, waterfronts, and other destinations, the Task Force seeks to improve quality of life, promote healthy lifestyles, support local tourism and economic development, and showcase the natural beauty and unique character of Mason County for residents and visitors alike.
Norm Cox of Greenway Collaborative, has created a survey to solicit the community’s input on our first trail segment: Cartier Park to PM River Access Park. This segment combines a section of “Segment 1” (Ludington State Park to Downtown Ludington) with a section of “Segment 2” (Downtown Ludington to Mason County Campground), making a fundable segment that connects two recreation assets (parks) and largely follows existing US Bike Routes.
Please take a look at the Draft Plan for more details and then complete a brief Survey to share your thoughts and help shape the final plan.
