𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗯𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸 is proud to partner with 𝗔𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝗜𝗻𝗰. in sponsoring the 🐑🐐 2026 West Michigan Livestock Council Essay Contest 🐐🐑

Prizes! - 1 market lamb or 1 market goat to raise and show at the 2026 Western Michigan Fair!

All applicants must be between the ages 5-19, enrolled in the West Michigan Livestock Council program in Ludington, and have parental permission to potentially receive, house and care for a lamb or goat to qualify.

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀:
Applicant must hand write or type an essay detailing each of the following:
• Why they would like to raise and show a lamb or goat
• How they will provide care to their animal
• How and what they will feed them
• How they will prepare them for showing
• Why a buyer should bid on their project

All applicants must also include:
• Name
• Age
• Address
• Phone or Contact number

*Top 3 entries for a lamb will be interviewed by Acres Co-Op & Shelby State Bank to determine one winner for a lamb locally raised & hand-picked by P & M Sheep Farm Club Lambs

*Top 3 entries for a goat will be interviewed by Acres Co-Op & Shelby State Bank to determine one winner for a goat locally raised & hand-picked by PB & J Boer Goats
* All top 3 entries will win 1 free bag of Kalmbach show feed

Checks will be available at this meeting. You must provide your buyer-signed proof of receipt of their

This is a reminder that there is a meeting tonight at 7:00pm in the grandstand at the fairgrounds.

We will be voting on the members of the Executive Board, and your pictures from the sale will be available. Buyers must sign as proof of receipt of their picture, before checks will be handed out at the October meeting.

Are you interested in the chance to win a fully finished hog? All proceeds will be donated to the WillStrong foundation, which helps support members of our community who are facing life's challenges. This foundation was created to honor the legacy of Will Flewelling.

We will start by offering 25 slots, and increase that amount if needed. Each slot is $25. Comment below which slot # (or #'s) you would like. Payment will be accepted by Venmo or cash/check only, due at time of entry. The hog will be delivered to Ebel's in Falmouth on August 7th. Current weight is aproximately 260lbs. We will cover the cost of processing, up to $200. You chose the cuts. The drawing will take place on 8/7 at 7pm. Please contact Caleb or Emily with any questions. The next meeting will be held this, Wednesday, June 4th @ 7:00pm in the grandstand at the fairgrounds.

The 2025 Potential Buyer Form, is due at the June 18th meeting. Anyone who is planning to sell must get the signature of two buyers, per project animal, to avoid an additional 5% penalty. Check your email for the forms

The 2025 Parent Permission Slips and Member Enrollment Forms are also due at this meeting for anyone planning to tag an animal for market.

Hello! It’s that time of year yet again….. time to start thinking about how many birds you will need for the 2025 Fair. We will get numbers from all of you and then we will try to get the best prices. We are doing the ordering a little different this year, you will have to pay for your birds before they get ordered. After I have numbers I will let you know when they need to be paid. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!! Jolene will be available on Saturday, September 21st from 9:00-10:00am and Sunday, September 22nd from 1:30-2:00pm at the West Shore Bank parking lot in Scottville. Otherwise checks will be available for pick up at the October 2nd meeting.
