🎉 Celebrating 20 Years of Rivers to Ridges Heritage Trail! 🎉
This month, we proudly celebrate two decades of preserving history, promoting recreation, and strengthening communities across our region.
Since its founding in 2006, Rivers to Ridges Heritage Trail has connected people to the rich heritage, natural beauty, and unique stories that make our corner of West Virginia so special. None of this would have been possible without the vision, determination, and countless hours of dedication from our founder, Mr. Lowell Wilkes.
For twenty years, Lowell has worked tirelessly to turn ideas into reality—helping preserve historic sites, develop recreational opportunities, secure funding for community projects, and inspire partnerships that continue to benefit residents and visitors alike. His passion for our region has left a lasting legacy that will be enjoyed for generations to come.
As we celebrate this milestone, we also extend our deepest gratitude to Denny Bellamy, who is retiring this year after serving on the board since before Rivers to Ridges officially came into existence. Denney's unwavering commitment, leadership, and support have helped guide the organization from its earliest days through two decades of growth and success. His service has been invaluable, and we thank him for the tremendous impact he has made on our communities.
To Lowell, Denney, our past and present board members, partners, volunteers, supporters, and friends—thank you for being part of this incredible journey.
Here's to 20 years of preserving our heritage, celebrating our communities, and creating opportunities for future generations!
