What sanctuary looks like ❤️ The freedom to choose how you spend your time, the care you need to be happy and healthy, and so much love.

Providing care for over 300 rescued animals is an enormous task for the two of us, but knowing that the basic necessities are covered makes things a whole lot easier! Monthly donors truly keep this magical place going — they keep bellies full, beds soft and clean, and a lot of animals happy. We can’t do this without you!

Ferd and Oliver, soaking up the last of summer's daisies. 🌼

This season stretched us thin — not enough hands on deck which means a lot of long, hot days for Peter and me. But this handsome pair (and everyone else at the sanctuary) never have to worry. What they know is that their belly's are full, their water is fresh and clean and we will show up for them every single day even if no one else will.

As the season turns, we're grateful for every dollar, and every kind word that's helped us keep these two (and everyone else here) happy and healthy. We couldn't do it without your support! ❤️

Sweet Roscoe has been doing all the summer pig things! He loves finding a shady patch under a tree to take a long nap, followed by a refreshing dip, and then shaking down the humans for an apple or two. Give this cutie some love! ❤️

A pig of many names ❤️ Every animal here has at least two or three nicknames (and special songs 😅), but some, like Junebug, have about a hundred. Tell us your companion animals nicknames in the comments!

It may seem like a small thing — but for Petal, and for every animal fortunate enough to find safety at our sanctuary, growing old is nothing short of a miracle. Most pigs never see beyond their fifth month of life, and those few months hold nothing but fear, pain, and suffering. They never know a moment without worry or the simple comfort of the sunlight on their back.

But Petal’s story is different. Every birthday, every slow and contented nap in the afternoon sun — these are the things she was never supposed to have. And yet here she is, living proof that another way is possible.

None of this happens by chance. It is made possible by the the volunteers who show up rain or shine, the donors who give quietly and faithfully, and every person who chose compassion when it would have been easier to look away. To everyone who makes days like this possible for Petal and animals like her — thank you. You are the reason she gets to grow old.

Roscoe gives the best hugs ❤️ Getting to know this sweetie guy over the last months has been such a joy. He truly has the kindest heart. We just love him so much!
