She will share her most recent work, Like A Woman, a film about women in male-dominated professions! We will sit outside, so please bring your own chair & snacks. We'll supply the sodas and wine! Dear Friends,
We're so excited that our first truckload of divine Two Brooks Rice brown rice arrived in Houston on Tuesday, and another will hit Kansas City tomorrow!
Later this week a truckload of rice will be delivered to California and a load of oranges picked up headed for Kansas City!

If you havent already, please consider donating to our fabulous cause of connecting farmers straight to families who need food. There's zero overhead and every dime is spent on food and moving it to where it's needed most.

The fall out from the this horrendous virus is beginning to disrupt our food systems in all sorts of unexpected ways.

Through the PORCH Society, Chess Ag Full Harvest Partners, Two Brooks Farm and Farmacopia Farms have gotten together to make a bootstrap difference by connecting farmers at the heart of the food supply straight to the food banks feeding the increasing need of hungry families across the nation.

The PORCH Society was proud to sponsor and evening to facilitate the ongoing restoration of the historic New Roxy Theatre in downtown Clarksdale, Mississippi on April 21, 2017. The evening featured music from BISHOP GUNN and co-sponsorship from the Americana Music Triangle and Southern Comfort.

The New Roxy is a former movie theater that opened circa 1949. After serving the community in the New World District for several decades, the New Roxy closed in 1981. Following a 30-year vacancy, the New Roxy’s doors were opened once again in 2008 by its current owner, Robin Colonas. Years of labour and efforts by many “Team New Roxy” members have resulted in the theater’s current state of renovation. The front bar area has been covered and weather-proofed, while the main theater area remains open to the sky – what a way to watch music, under the stars!

This fundraising campaign has raised $8,000 to date. These funds were put towards stabilizing the brick tuck pointing on the north wall which had areas where brick had deteriorated and was falling off the structure. Also, a new gutter was installed on the back of the building for the first time in 25+ years, which helps to stop the settling of the foundation. Finally, work has been undertaken to run electricity out to the iconic front marquee!

There are many visions and plans yet to be realized, and the community support has been greatly appreciated! Contributions to this fundraising campaign have come from far and wide, all for the effort to restore, maintain and sustain this historic building in Clarksdale.

Dear Friends, The PORCH Society is delighted to announce a benefit evening tomorrow night to support the continued restoration of the historic New Roxy Theater. Please join us for the Bishop Gunn concert if possible. We have a full schedule of exciting events for Juke Joint Festival week, but we are particularly thrilled about our Friday late night event.

PORCH Society is hosting a fundraising evening for the New Roxy to help us continue restoration of our historic building.

Natchez, MS band BISHOP GUNN will be bringing some Southern style Rock and Roll to the main stage at 9pm Friday.
