MEET OUR 2027 SUMMER CAMP LEADERSHIP TEAM!

We’re excited to kick off our 2027 Summer Camp Staff Leadership announcements by welcoming Julie Henrich as our Cub Scout Program Director at Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation!

Julie is no stranger to HMSR. The 2027 season will mark her seventh year on staff and her fourth summer as part of the Cub Scout leadership team. After last serving on the leadership team in 2021, she is excited to return with fresh ideas, plenty of energy, and a passion for creating an unforgettable summer for our Cub Scouts.

Outside of Scouting, Julie is a Pre-Kindergarten teacher, where she creates hands-on experiences that encourage children to explore, discover, and learn through play. She plans to bring that same creativity to camp, building a Cub Scout program where Scouts can try something new, get a little messy, challenge themselves, and make memories they’ll be talking about long after summer is over.

We’re thrilled to have Julie back at HMSR and can’t wait to see what she and the Cub Scout team have in store for 2027!

That's a wrap on the 2026 summer camp season at Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation!

What an incredible summer it has been. Thank you to every Scout, leader, volunteer, staff member, and family who made this season such a success. Your enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment to Scouting created memories that will last a lifetime and helped make camp a place where young people could learn, grow, and have adventures.

As we closed out the season, our camp staff started what we hope becomes a new tradition by sharing our final dinner together at the campfire circle. It was the perfect way to reflect on an amazing summer, celebrate everything we accomplished, and thank one another for the countless hours of hard work that made camp possible.

To our incredible staff, thank you for your passion, teamwork, and dedication to delivering an outstanding program week after week. You truly made a difference in the lives of every Scout who came through our gates this summer.

Thank you for making the 2026 summer camp season one to remember. We already can't wait to welcome everyone back to Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation next summer!

The safety of our Scouts, leaders, volunteers, and staff remains our top priority.

We are continuing to closely monitor the smoke conditions at Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation and will evaluate program activities again first thing tomorrow morning based on the latest air quality information and conditions at camp.

For this evening, we have opened indoor accommodations for anyone who would benefit from being out of the smoke. Camp leadership will continue to monitor conditions throughout the night and make adjustments as needed.

We appreciate everyone's patience, flexibility, and cooperation as we work to provide a safe and enjoyable camp experience. We will share any program updates as soon as decisions are made tomorrow morning.

Thank you Brian for visiting today!

Today, Hawk Mountain Council had the honor of having a lifelong and dedicated Scouting Volunteer visit us at HMSR, Brian Shober. Brian was the Lead Volunteer in making HMSR what it is today - 48 years ago. Through his leadership, he designed and built the groundwork for what our Reservation looks like today!
