We have been seeing and hearing a lot about bikes, e-bikes and e-scooters. Please check out this micro mobility info sheet.
Things worth noting regarding e-scooters, e-bikes, and bikes:
❌ Electric scooters cannot be used on public roadways in PA. Because of this the below ages and permissible area uses will not include e-scooters. ❌
🚲While municipalities can set their own policies, PA minimum standards allows bikes and e-bikes on sidewalks (not in business districts).
🚲 Minimum age to ride an e-bike is 16 years old.
🚴🏽‍♀️ Helmets required for ages 12 and under on bikes but encouraged for all ages.
🔅Lighting must be used on bikes and e-bikes between dusk and dawn.

For automobile drivers: State law requires motor vehicles must allow 4 feet distance when overtaking a bicycle.

Starting tonight at 7:00 PM, Schuylkill County residents will have 24 hours to support dozens of local nonprofits through NEPA Gives.

From libraries and historical societies to ambulance associations, arts organizations, animal shelters, and youth programs, 33 Schuylkill County organizations are participating in this year's regional day of giving.

NEPA Gives is officially 3 days away!
Your donation to the Schuylkill Connects supports Healthy Schuylkill Communities programs aimed at creating safe spaces to walk and bike, improving access to care, and providing opportunities to create a sense of community. Funds raised support bike rodeo supplies, walking group events, municipal active transportation plan technical assistance and advocacy, and community tabling to connect organizations and residents to vital resources.
