Turtle Wing Foundation Turtle Wing was founded in 2011 in memory of Jackson Allan Hooper. Turtle Wing serves families in Fayette, Lavaca, Colorado, and surrounding counties.

Honoring Jackson Allan Hooper 🐢🪽

Helping individuals with learning challenges in rural areas achieve their full potential by providing access to a shared network of emotional, educational, and therapeutic resources. Jack, who was diagnosed with high functioning Autism, passed from this life too soon just prior to his 10th birthday, and in doing so sparked a fire within his family and community to

help families who struggle with all learning differences. Their struggles while raising Jack and his brother Will, who also had an Autism diagnosis, were very real and they wanted to help other families facing the same struggles. These families not only face financial challenges but also contend with limited resources that living in a rural area present. The three programming areas of Turtle Wing are Early Intervention, Supplemental Services, and Community Education and Advocacy.

🎓🐢 🪽 WHERE ARE THEIR WINGS TAKING THEM? 🎓🐢 🪽

As students head Back to School, we’re catching up with past Turtle Wing Foundation scholarship recipients and celebrating where their wings are taking them! 🐢🪽

Today, we’re proud to spotlight Dyllan Chrismon, a 2025 graduate of Shiner High School and recipient of the 🪽 GIVE WINGS SCHOLARSHIP 🪽

Dyllan is currently attending Nelson University, where she’s balancing college life with playing softball 🥎 while pursuing a degree in Kinesiology. Her goal? To become a Pediatric Physical Therapist and help children improve their quality of life. 💙

For Dyllan, the Give Wings Scholarship helped make that journey a little easier.

"Receiving the Turtle Wing Foundation scholarship made a big difference for me financially. It helped ease some of the stress of paying for college and allowed me to focus more on my education, softball and getting one step closer to my career goals."

And she has some great advice for students preparing to spread their own wings:

"Work hard, stay focused and take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way." 🪽

Dyllan also shared her gratitude for the Turtle Wing Foundation staff, donors, volunteers and supporters who help make these opportunities possible.

We are so excited to see what this next school year holds for Dyllan and where her wings take her next! 🐢🪽
