Our monthly Shorthorns Forever Association Social at Adolf’s Bar in the Faith Family Fun Center (bowling alley) will be held tomorrow, Wednesday May 20th at 6:30 p.m.



If you haven’t renewed your current year’s membership (10/1/2025 through 9/30/2026), you can pay the yearly $25.00 membership fee by mailing payment in to P.O. Box 113, Schulenburg, TX. 78956, renew online at www.shorthornsforever.com, or by dropping off payment to Mike Olle at Fayette Savings Bank in Schulenburg.



Don’t forget our “CENTURY CLUB” membership option which MANY have chosen to do. $100.00 renews your membership for FOUR years! And in doing so, you receive a $20 credit you can apply toward Shorthorns Forever merchandise.

The April meeting of the Shorthorns Forever Association met on Thursday, April 16 at Adolph’s. There were 9 members present. Montana Olle opened the meeting and Dale Manning led the group in an opening prayer.
Current balance is $ 25,226.95. Sausagefest brought in $1,697. Thanks goes out to all the Sausage Fest workers, Chad Pauler, Chad Zimmerman, Holly & Dwayne Bartek, Dale & Dalton Manning, Lori & Trinia Baumgarten, Jeff Gabler,
Robert & Jennifer Demel, David Martinez, Charlie Dumesnil, Sheila Brossmann, Shawn Mikesky, Mike & Montana Ole.
Kristen Holub presented her grant project. It is called Ozobots. It helps kids to be able to engage and interact with entry-level coding activities. She brought one and showed us how it worked.
We also received an email from Loren Besetzny detailing what they use the color printer ink for that she purchased her grant money. She also attached some pictures.
We then moved on to elections. No one emailed or contacted anyone for other submissions. So Dale made a motion that we accept the slate of officers as was presented at the March meeting and we do not need a vote in May. Sarah seconded it and motion passed so officers will take over in May.
President-Holly Bartek, Vice-President-Montana Olle, Treasurer- Holly Czminsky, Secretary- Sheila Brossmann, Community Liaison- Mike Olle and Membership Coordinator- Chad Zimmermann
Suggestion for us to provide breakfast one morning of teacher inservice to let teachers and staff know who we are and about our grant program.
Dalton made a motion to adjourn the meeting with a second by Dwayne, motion passed. Next meeting will be on May 20.

Hey Shorthorns!

Our monthly Shorthorns Forever Association Social at Adolf’s Bar in the Faith Family Fun Center (bowling alley) will be held tomorrow, Thursday April 16th at 6:30 p.m.
We will finalize nominations and the ballot for officer positions at this meeting. Should anyone desire to make a new nomination please do so at the meeting or by contacting Association Secretary Sheila Brossmann prior to the meeting.
As it stands, nominations are as follows: President: Holly Bartek, Vice-President: Montana Olle, Treasurer: Holly Czimskey, Secretary: Sheila Brossmann, Community Liaison: Mike Olle, Membership Coordinator: Chad Zimmermann.

As a reminder, officer elections will be held at the following meeting, Wednesday, May 20.
Sincere thanks to the members who came out and helped work our Shorthorns Forever booth Saturday at the Schulenburg Sausagefest. It was a very successful day! We will have a report on our proceeds at tomorrow’s meeting.

The Shorthorns Forever Association held their monthly meeting on Wed. Mar. 18, 2026 at DJ’s with 12 members in attendance. Montana Olle called the meeting to order and Dale Manning led the group in prayer.

Discussion started on officers. Montana made a motion with a second by Charlie to merge the office of Reporter with the Secretary as she already does most of the reporting.
Nominations were taken on the following: President: Holly Bartek, Vice-President: Montana Olle, Treasurer: Holly Czminsky, Secretary: Sheila Brossmann, Community Liaison: Mike Olle, Membership Coordinator: Chad Zimmerman.
These are the nominations at this time. If anyone would like to nominate anyone else or volunteer for an office, please contact Sheila. We will finalize the ballot at the April meeting and voting will be in May.
April meeting will be on Thursday, April 16 and May meeting will be on Wednesday, May 20.

We have workers for all of the shifts for Sausagefest. Bubba did order some new caps.

Sheila will contact the SISD grant winners and ask that they present at either the June 18th or July 16th meeting.

Remind people about choosing to do memorials to SFA when they have a loved one who passes.

Dalton made a motion with a second by Bubba to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Next meeting will be on April 16.

Our monthly Shorthorns Forever Association Social at Adolf’s Bar in the Faith Family Fun Center (bowling alley) will be held WEDNESDAY, March 18th at 6:30 p.m..



OFFICER NOMINATIONS for the association will take place at this meeting so please make every effort to attend.



Per February 19th meeting action, the deadline for nominations to the positions of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Reporter, and Community Liaison are due at this meeting, to be made either in person at Wednesday’s meeting or in absentia by contacting Association Secretary Sheila Brossmann prior to the meeting by call or text to 979-561-6487.

As a reminder/recap of the timeline established for elections:

Nominations: March 18, 2026

Ballot and Election Procedures: April (Date TBD at March 18 meeting)

Election Date: May (Date TBD at April Meeting)



In addition, here are a few key points to remember regarding the 2026 officer elections:

Members interested in an officer position may nominate themselves.
A member nominated by another member may refuse nomination.
The Association will allow absentee voting in the 2026 officer elections for active (current dues paid) members, with absentee voting restricted to the date of the election.
Procedures for absentee voting will be determined (along with election procedures in general) at the April meeting.


** Even if you have no desire to be an officer, your attendance is important to express your opinion on the number of items that will be discussed and acted upon at Wednesday's meeting.



Next BIG EVENT – 11th Annual Schulenburg Sausagefest – Saturday, April 11, 2026

As we have every year since its inception, our association will have a booth set up near the bandstand. If you’d like to help work a shift, contact Mike Olle at 979-561-6157.

🏀🏀The Horns defeated Rosebud Lott last night 61-57 in the BiDistrict Championship.

The Horns now play Hearne on Friday 2/27 at Navasota HS at 6:30.
