⚽️ Schererville Soccer Club Update! ⚽️

We are currently transitioning from Sports Connect our registration and website platform to PlayMetrics, which recently acquired Sports Connect. 💻⚽️

🔄 During this transition, spring registration will be temporarily on hold while we get our new website and registration system set up and running.

📢 Once everything is ready to go, we will let everyone know when Spring Registration is officially OPEN! 🎉

🗓️ Don’t worry — you’ll have plenty of time to register! Once registration opens, it will remain open through the end of January. Spring registration is always open much longer than fall registration, so there’s no need to rush. 😊

For now, let’s finish this season strong! 💪⚽️ Our final in-house games are this Saturday, so let’s make the most of them and have some fun! 🎉🙌

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to SoccerRama this Saturday! ⚽️

We had such a great turnout, and we hope all of our SSC families had an amazing time! From the games and activities to the food and fun, it was so great seeing everyone come together and enjoy the day.

We truly appreciate everyone who came out and helped make SoccerRama such a fun and successful event. We couldn’t do it without our amazing SSC families and volunteers!

🌧️ ANNOUNCEMENT 🌧️

Due to the weather and current field conditions, all practices are CANCELLED for today. We don’t want to risk anyone getting hurt or damaging the fields, plus it's going to rain the remainder of the evening.

Also, a friendly reminder that Saturday is our BIG Soccerrama event! 🎉⚽️ We can’t wait to see everyone there and hope you’re ready for a fun day!

NEW PICTURE TODAY!! 🌟

👕 What to Bring:
-Players need to arrive wearing their team jersey
-Cleats and shin guards are NOT needed for pictures.
-No need to pre-order pictures! A link will be sent to your email approximately 10 minutes after your child's picture is taken.
-Please arrive 10–15 minutes early so we can stay on schedule.

📍 When You Arrive:
When you get there, you'll see signs on the wall with your team/division listed. Please have your child wait by their team's sign, and we will come grab them when it is time for pictures.

⬆️ Parents will need to remain on the top tier of the cafeteria and are not allowed back by the photographers. Coaches will be running around trying to keep everything on schedule, so you may not see much of us either! Once we bring the team back to us, we'll stay with them for the rest of the process.

📸 A Few More Reminders:
Only players and coaches are allowed near the photographers.

🧑‍🏫 Coaches: Don't forget to take a picture with your child!
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Sibling photos are available! If you'd like your children to take a sibling photo together, please let your coach know when you arrive.

💰 Purchasing individual pictures is completely optional, but team pictures will be taken, so please make sure your player attends at their scheduled team time.

⚠️ WEATHER UPDATE ⚠️
Due to the incoming thunderstorms and what we are seeing on the radar, all 8:00 AM games are CANCELLED this morning.

The radar looks promising for 9am games but please keep an eye on GC for updates from your coaches.

The safety of our players, coaches, referees, and families is always our top priority. With storms moving into the area, we do not want anyone out on the fields during unsafe conditions.
We will provide any additional updates regarding later games as we continue to monitor the weather.

Good Morning!

As of right now, all games are still on as scheduled! We play rain or shine, and honestly, the kids usually think playing in the rain is the best part! ☔️⚽️

We will, of course, continue to follow our lightning policy and make safety the priority. If anything changes with your game, your coach will keep you updated.

Lightning/Thunder Policy
This policy is in effect for ALL In-House and Travel practices and games, as well as all other SSC related outdoor activities.

At the first sound of thunder or the first sign of lightning, all coaches, players, referees, and spectators are to withdraw from the field and seek proper shelter.

In the case of Travel, SSC members should make our visitors aware of our policy and instruct them to seek proper shelter.

No place outside is safe near thunderstorms. The best shelter is a large, fully enclosed, substantially constructed building. A vehicle with a solid metal roof and metal sides is a reasonable second choice.

If there is no proper shelter, avoid the most dangerous locations:
- Higher elevations
- Wide open areas, including fields
- Tall isolated objects, such as trees, poles, or light posts.
- Unprotected open buildings
- Rain shelters
- Bus stops
- Metal fences and metal bleachers

Wait at least 30 minutes after the last sound of thunder or the last lightning flash before giving the “all clear” signal and resuming normal activity.

If thunder is heard or lightning is seen again within that 30-minute time frame, all activities shall be cancelled for that time frame.

Any new activities that follow shall have to repeat this same policy before starting.

Lightning research has confirmed that consecutive lightning strikes can occur as much as six miles apart. People often do not perceive lightning to be close if it is two miles or more away, but the risk of the next strike being at your location may actually be very high.

Many lightning casualties occur in the beginning as a thunderstorm approaches because people ignore these precursors. When thunderstorms are in the area but not overhead, the lightning threat can exist even if it is sunny at your location.

No Lightning/Thunder Safety Policy can give 100% Guaranteed Total Safety but these steps will help try to avoid casualties by taking evasive action.

Anyone caught not abiding by the Lightning/Thunder Policy shall face disciplinary action or possible expulsion from the Club.

Anyone seen on the fields during this time can be ticketed by the Police!
Schererville Soccer Club will not be held responsible for persons disregarding instructions to exit the fields and seek shelter.
YOU CAN NOT TAKE BACK A LIFE!
