Congrats to our wonderful friends at Proctors on being named the Grand Marshals of this years Schenectady County Holiday Parade to celebrate their 100th season! We can't wait to cheer for you along the parade route. 🎄⛄

The Schenectady County Holiday Parade, which is the largest nighttime parade in the Northeast, draws thousands of spectators each year to kick off the holiday season. This year’s Parade is shaping up to be bigger, brighter, and more exciting than ever. Building on the success of last year’s event, which featured more than 100 groups, the celebration will kick off with a lively pre-parade party featuring live music and local vendors. A second grandstand will once again be set up on lower State Street, giving spectators another great spot to catch the action and hear about the incredible floats and performers.

The Parade will also carry on its proud tradition of honoring veterans, with the permanent Veterans Division marching in a place of distinction right behind the Grand Marshal. And to ensure everyone can take part in the holiday magic, the sensory-friendly space at the GE Theater inside Proctors, introduced last year, will be back, creating a welcoming environment for families of all needs.

Applications are now open for the Schenectady County Holiday Parade. Groups are invited to participate with their most clever holiday-themed floats. Each group will have an opportunity to perform for 45 seconds in front of the reviewing stand which will be by Proctors on State Street. Applications are available at www.schenectadycountyny.gov/parade. Last year, the application process was upgraded with a new online portal designed to make applying easier and more efficient. Entrance fees are $100, or $75 for non-profit organizations. Applications and fees must be submitted no later than October 30, 2026.
