Gorgonzola is ready for sweater weather!

At just 1 year old and 19 pounds, Gorgonzola is an absolute dream! This happy, playful girl is full of personality and ready to find her forever family.

Gorgonzola is crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, and is doing great with potty training. She's dog-friendly, not much of a barker, and loves walks, toys, car rides, and showing off her zoomies!

This smart, affectionate girl would love an active family ready to include her in their adventures and give her plenty of playtime and love.

Dovekie has mastered two very important life skills: being the fun police and being the cuddle queen! 😂🐾

When her foster sisters are busy wrestling and causing chaos, Dovekie prefers to sit back, snuggle with her humans, and silently judge the nonsense. But don't let that fool you, because when she's ready, she jumps right into the action! 💕

Maggie is a 60-pound toy-hoarding queen with a heart of gold and absolutely ZERO intentions of sharing her collection. She believes life is better with toys, snacks, adventures, and a human who thinks she's the best thing since sliced bread. And honestly? She's not wrong.

She's potty-trained, crate-trained, kid-friendly, and a smart cookie who knows her commands. She's got playful energy when it's time for fun and expert-level lounging skills when it's time to relax.

Her hobbies include:
-Collecting toys like she's preparing for the Toypocalypse
-Stockpiling bones like she's preparing for winter
-Enjoying the great outdoors
-Switching effortlessly between Olympic athlete and professional couch potato
-Being the center of someone's ENTIRE UNIVERSE

Her dream home? A place where she can be the queen bee! Maggie would love to be your one-and-only pet, although she can coexist with respectful dogs. Cats, however, are a hard no — she's got a little too much hunter in her heart.

Meet Sweets, a 75-pound Doberman sweetheart with a BIG heart and so much love to give!

This goofy, affectionate girl loves her people, enjoys long walks and adventures, and is always happy to wind down with a good cuddle and a serious nap. She’s potty-trained, crate-trained, knows her basic commands, and is eager to please!

Sweets is looking for a special person who will see her potential and help her continue building confidence. She’s working on her reactions to things like bikes and cars, and she’ll need an experienced, committed handler who can help her succeed. She also experiences separation anxiety, so a patient home willing to work with her is a must.

Sweets’ ideal home:
- Preferably the only pet, with no cats due to her high prey drive
- Kid-friendly
- A secure 6-foot fence or a home without a fence
- Someone ready to help her thrive with patience, consistency, and lots of love

🐾 Please welcome the three newest members of the FTF family—Irv, Wahlberg, and Foster! 🐾

🤎 Irv is a 1-year-old, 44-pound handsome boy with brown and tan coloring.

💛 Wahlberg is a 1-year-old, 37-pound sweetheart with a sunny yellow coat.

Irv and Wahlberg were found together after being abandoned near a local airport. Both arrived underweight and understandably unsure, but food, patience, and kindness quickly helped them feel safe. These resilient boys are incredibly sweet and friendly with others.

🖤 Foster is a 1-year-old Lab mix whose owner had to surrender him after longer work hours made it difficult to provide the care he deserved. He is super sweet, housebroken, and good with other dogs.

Our Rescue Readers program helps children build confidence while reading in a safe, judgment-free environment, all while giving our shelter pups some much-needed love, comfort, and enrichment as they wait for their forever homes.

✨ Here’s what’s in store:
📖 Bring a favorite book (or two!)
🐕 Read to one of our adorable shelter dogs
🎨 Create a special enrichment project for the pups
👕 Receive your very own Rescue Readers T-shirt!

Every child’s $20 donation helps cover their T-shirt and enrichment supplies while also helping provide a vaccine for a dog in need. ❤️

A cry in a flower bed changed everything.

On the 17th, a couple in Pontotoc, MS heard crying and found Rosie, an emaciated stray mom, with 11 newborn puppies. She was so weak they thought she was dying.

They called the local shelter, got Rosie to a vet, and took the family inside for the night. The next day, they drove down to bring them to the shelter.

They were just 1 day old when they arrived.

Sadly, the tiny white runt passed away that first night. Rosie had given everything she had to keep her babies fed.

FTF only had room for 4 of the remaining 10, but thankfully the other 6 found rescue once they were weaned and mom went to a foster home!

One mom. Eleven babies. One tiny flower bed. And a whole lot of people who refused to let them be alone.
