Grant Opportunities Are Still Available Through CFTT!

Do You Know Someone Who Makes Our Community Better? Nominate Them Today!

Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT), in cooperation with the Waverly Rotary Foundation, is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Bill & Sarah Ransom Community Service Award.

Award Amount: $900
Application Deadline: September 11, 2026

This award honors the extraordinary legacy of Bill and Sarah Ransom, two individuals whose lifelong dedication to serving others helped strengthen communities throughout the Valley Area. Their leadership, volunteerism, and passion for giving back continue to inspire others to make a difference. Rotary was one of the many organizations Bill was passionate about. To honor his commitment to community service, his fellow Waverly Rotarians established this annual award to recognize an individual who demonstrates the same spirit of service while also benefiting a local nonprofit organization.

We are seeking nominations for someone who embodies those same values of leadership, service, and dedication to improving life in the Valley Area (Waverly, NY; Sayre, PA; and Athens, PA).

What makes this award unique? The recipient has the special honor of selecting a local nonprofit organization to receive the $900 award, extending the impact of their service throughout the community.

If you know someone who quietly gives their time, leads by example, and works tirelessly to make our community a better place, we encourage you to nominate them today.

Investing in Tomorrow's Leaders

Congratulations to Harley Thompson, recipient of four Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers scholarships for 2026: the Northern Potter Scholarship, Rose Marie Tubbs Memorial Scholarship, Ruth Agar Memorial Scholarship, and the Tomb Family Scholarship.

A graduate of Northern Potter High School, Harley will be pursuing a degree in Biology with the goal of becoming a Physician Assistant.

Receiving four scholarships is a testament to Harley's hard work, academic achievement, and dedication to her future. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, these scholarships help make educational dreams possible while investing in the next generation of community leaders.

The Future is Bright!

The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers is excited to recognize Markenna Burdick as the recipient of the 2026 John F. Bush Scholarship.

A graduate of Cowanesque Valley High School, Markenna plans to study Interior Architecture. Scholarships like this help students take the next step toward achieving their goals, and we are honored to be part of that journey.

Scholarships Change Lives

The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers is proud to congratulate Reed Taylor, recipient of the 2026 John H. Hyde, Jr. and Dr. Marcella M. Hyde Scholarship and the Donald & LaRene Ayres Scholarship.

A graduate of Canton Area High School, Reed plans to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education. These scholarships are made possible through the generosity and foresight of donors who believe in investing in the future of our communities by helping students achieve their educational goals. We are honored to carry forward their legacy by supporting deserving students like Reed.

Today we're celebrating Landon Jenkins, recipient of the 2026 Guthrie Community Credit Union Scholarship.

After graduating from Troy High School, Landon will continue their education by studying Agribusiness Management.

Our communities are filled with talented, hardworking students, and we're proud to support their educational journeys through scholarships made possible by generous donors.

Today, members of our staff and Tioga County Advisory Board had the opportunity to spend the morning at the Knoxville Food Pantry, where Darla Cole gave us a behind the scenes look at how the pantry serves our community.

After learning more about their operations, we rolled up our sleeves alongside the pantry’s incredible volunteers and packed more than 200 food boxes for their upcoming distribution.

The Knoxville Food Pantry was a 2025 recipient of a grant from the Knoxville Fund, and seeing that support in action was truly meaningful. We are especially grateful to the dedicated volunteers who faithfully give their time each week to ensure families in our community have access to nutritious food. Their compassion, hard work, and commitment are making a difference every single day.

Thank you to Darla and the entire Knoxville Food Pantry team for welcoming us. It was an inspiring day of learning, serving, and strengthening our community together.
