Cindy Lou Mack, 62, of Waverly passed away on Friday, May 8, 2020 as a result of complications from the COVID-19 virus at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ronald “Bert” Gesford and Helen VanDuzer Gesford Wheeler.
Cindy is survived by her loving husband, Joseph, who is also battling COVID-19 at the Robert Packer Hospital; her children, Tara Kneebone of Waverly and Joseph Mack II of Waverly; siblings, Barbara (James) Schutt of Waverly, Ronald (Ana) Gesford of VA, Donna (John Williams) Fessenden of Athens, Cheryl (Larry) Raymond of Sayre, Paul Gesford of Elmira and Betty Shilling of Waverly; grandchildren, John B. Ames, Derek Ames, Haley Judge, William G. Kneebone, Brooke Mack, Laila Mack, Joseph Mack III and Khloe Mack; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cindy loved to babysit for her grandchildren and others over the years. She enjoyed her daily coffee with her mother-in-law, who predeceased her, Mary Mack. Cindy loved doing her puzzles.
A time of calling will be held on Friday, July 10, 2020 from 10 to 12 at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, New York. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 12:00 PM at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, New York with Rev. Cindy Schulte officiating with burial to follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Waverly. For those who are unable to attend the service, the service will be Live Streamed at 12:00 PM at www.blauveltfuneralhome.com. Mary E. Mack, 84, of Athens passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 as a result of complications from the COVID-19 virus at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.
She was predeceased by her parents, Carl and Mary Hofer Buck; husband, Allen Roger Mack; sisters, Eva and Martha; and brothers, Asher, George and Eugene.
Mary is survived by her children, Barbara (James) Carl of Athens, Joseph (Cindy Lou) Mack of Waverly, Cindy Becker of Waverly and Michelle (Randy) Keene of Waverly; sisters, Charmaine (Dennis) Shaffer of Williamsport and Kathy (Larry) Nogle of FL; grandchildren, Tara Kneebone, Joseph Mack II, Timothy Carl, Ryan Keene, Jaimie Carl, Katie Keene, Zachary Becker, Zebulen Becker and Aaron Keene; 15 great grandchildren; close friend, Allen Fairbairn of FL; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mary was kind and compassionate and was the rock that held her family together. She enjoyed helping others and meeting her former classmates for weekly lunch. She was a 1953 graduate of Waverly High School and went on to work for over 20 years as an accounting clerk for Pennsylvania Southern Gas. She was a life time member of the Waverly United Methodist Church.

The goodie bags are packed and delivered to the 7ICU nurses and staff at Guthrie! We couldn’t have done this without the support of each and every one of you! THANK YOU for helping us with this project!

This was just a small token of our appreciation for everything they did for Grandma Mack and Cindy, are continuing to do for Joe, and the hard work they put in each and every day to help those in need.

Due to everyone’s generosity, we were also able to deliver cookies and show our appreciation to the ER nurses, Greater Valley EMS and Elderwood staff- in memory of Grandma.
