It is with great sorrow that we inform you of the passing of Brother Larry Dozier.
Larry Mark Dozier, age 77, passed away on, Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, after a brief illness.
Larry was born on October 14, 1948, in Savannah to Reverend John Clarence Dozier Sr. and Alfreda Otto Dozier. He graduated from Savannah High School and later served in the Georgia Army National Guard. Larry was a member of the United Association Local 188, and in 2011 he retired from International Paper, where he used his lifelong skills as a pipe fitter. He loved life and had a passion for weightlifting and fast cars, he was proud owner of a Dodge Hellcat, and he was a Georgia State Arm Wrestling Champion.
Larry along with his loving companion Vickie, traveled this country that he loved from Niagara Falls to Chicago, from Route 66 to the coast of California all by automobile. He enjoyed reminiscing and talking about his travels with Vickie, conversations were usually filled with humor, sports and memories. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding around Tybee Island with his fur baby, Sadie, on his golf cart.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Lynn Dozier.
His family includes his loving companion for thirty-two years, Vickie Hatchett of Tybee Island; his children, Janet Dozier LaFauchi and her husband John of San Antonio, Texas, Larry Mark Dozier Jr. and his wife Kelly of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, and Ryan Michael Dozier of Greenville, South Carolina; his siblings, John C. Dozier Jr and his wife June, Debbie Dozier McKenzie and her husband Buddy, Sheryl Dozier Beasley and her husband Ronnie, Dale Dozier and Randy Dozier; seven grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Larry's life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Fox & Weeks, Islands Chapel with Reverend John C. Dozier Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service until 6:30 p.m.
