Public office should be about service, accountability, and improving people’s lives.

Over eight years in the State House and State Senate, Josh McLaurin has built a record of advocacy for veterans, workers’ rights, civil rights, affordable housing, consumer protection, affordability, and healthcare access.

His work has earned support from legislative colleagues and organizations across Georgia, but more importantly, it reflects values we believe matter: integrity, commitment, and a willingness to show up.

“Freedom is just privilege unless it’s for everyone.”

That message feels especially worth reflecting on today.

This Memorial Day, we remember the service members who lost their lives in service to this country. Their sacrifice is not measured in abstractions. It was personal. It was human.

Honoring that sacrifice means more than pausing for a moment. It means asking what kind of country we are creating, who benefits from freedom, and whether we are willing to participate in the work of making our communities stronger, fairer, and more democratic.

Memory matters. What we do with it matters too.
