Red Clay Animal Rescue

Red Clay Animal Rescue Savannah, GA Red Clay Animal Rescue is a small but powerful force in the collective effort to end pet homelessness and suffering in the Savannah area.

We are a licensed nonprofit organization. We provide care on a small scale to homeless animals with treatable injuries or illnesses, as well as seniors, usually from within the regional shelter system, who would otherwise be euthanized. Additional priorities include facilitation of animal transfers and transports (from high kill/poor live release rate facilities to facilities and rescues with very

high adoption rates, often in other states). These transfers very frequently require that the pets receive some medical intervention (sterilization, infectious disease testing, vaccinations) before transfer/transport.

100% of your donations will be used for homeless animals in need.

Googles and Suits! Still "looking" for a home together! This sweet pair will bring a lot of joy to their new family. Blind cats adapt incredibly well, and Googles has no issues with the litter box, finding her food, and playing with her friend.

Dorothy is a lovely 4–5-month-old spayed female kitten we pulled from animal control in June. She is a very sweet kitten, calm and affectionate.
She had a very severe viral upper respiratory infection at the shelter, and it took weeks for her to feel better and start eating again. Dorothy’s eyes will never be normal because they were infected when she was so young.
Dorothy saw a veterinary ophthalmologist this week and overall, it’s all good news! She can see out of both eyes, and she is not in any pain. She does not need any medication.
Dorothy really likes other kittens and would like to live in a home with other feline(s). She is indoors only.
Please contact us with any interest in this great kitten.

This is Indigo, who knows what happened to him, but he has a broken leg and someone or something chomped off one of his ears too. He's doing great so far on pain medication and crate rest. We will wait and see what happens with the leg, he's too little for surgery right now (1.1 pound).

Googles and Suits are available for adoption! When Googles was found, both of her eyes had perforated (due to severe viral disease) and she ultimately had to have both removed. Suits is from animal control and also has an imperfect eye due to viral infection. Googles and Suits are not related but they are best buds and would like to stay together. Googles is a spayed female and Suits is a neutered male, and they are around 10 weeks old. They are up to date on vaccines and FIV/FeLV negative. Blind cats honestly have no problems at all, it’s simply no big deal for them. Video included of Googles playing with a string.
Please contact us with any interest in this great pair.

Marie (black female) and Yogi (brown tabby male) are looking for a home together. Both are around 10 weeks old and sterilized, current on vaccines, and FIV/FeLV negative. Marie is the only surviving member of her litter, born outside. Yogi was pulled from animal control as a singleton. Yogi had one eye removed (corneal rupture from a virus) and the other eye isn’t completely normal, but he can see fine. Both of these kittens are hilarious and confident. They seem to love dogs, and they definitely love each other. They are looking for an indoor only home.

From scraggly street cats with ringworm to happy, healthy little boys—meet October (aka Toby) and August (aka Auggie)! These two are the sweetest little guys. They absolutely love to snuggle and will purr to the end of time. And Toby? He is hands-down the best biscuit maker I’ve ever met! Auggie has had two polyps removed from his right ear as well as being neutered and is doing well. Toby has dealt with some upper respiratory issues. While he was being neutered, he was thoroughly examined for polyps (none were found) and had a nasal flush to help clear the right side of his nose. Toby will likely have a sniffly nose for life, but it doesn’t stop him from living his best life. He also has a scar on his left eye that will be there for life, but it doesn’t bother him one bit. He loves to play hard with Auggie and has a very healthy appetite! Despite everything they’ve been through, these boys are incredibly sweet, affectionate, playful, and full of love. ❤️ Now they’re looking for someone who will give them the same love, patience, and kindness they so freely give in return.

ADOPTED

Special needs adoption.
Chunky is a 2yr old MN Ragdoll. Chunky experienced a life-threatening medical emergency called a urethral obstruction (“UO”) and nearly died. His former owners were young people without the financial resources or stability to take care of him (short or long term).
Chunky had to spend several days in the ICU but is doing great now. Cats with a history of UO need to stay on a special diet for life to help prevent it from happening again. This is a fairly common condition in young male cats, and I will include some links in the comments with more info.
Chunky is looking for a home with a person or family with the financial resources to pay for his special food, and to be able to take him for veterinary care if he experiences another episode of lower urinary tract disease.
Chunky is a mega chonk (>18 pounds) with an A++++ personality (extremely friendly and loves people), and obviously he’s incredibly handsome. He’s a confident cat and seems to love dogs (everyone really). He’s current on vaccines and FIV/FeLV negative.

PLEASE do not contact us if you do not have the financial resources to support this cat LONG TERM.
His current diet (Hill’s c/d), cost on Chewy: $78.99 for an 8.5lb bag of dry and $66.99 for 24 cans.

8/21/26 afternoon update: She's SO MUCH BETTER. She's eating and bright. Hematocrit up to 18%. She's an excellent mother and the kittens are doing very well. Probably able to be discharged from the hospital tonight if everything goes OK for the rest of the day.

6:30 PM update- she made it! Surgery went great and she's finishing her transfusion now. Three kittens also doing well. THANK YOU EVERYONE.

Attempting to change the outcome of a extremely depressing situation-- this friendly cat has a severe uterine prolapse after delivering her 3rd litter of unwanted kittens. She needs a blood transfusion and emergency surgery now. If she survives we will take them all into the rescue. Donate now if you can, trying to reach around $1500.
(Surgery is happening no matter what)

Kalamata is a gorgeous 4-5 month old spayed female available for adoption. She was found as a stray with severe nerve damage to her right front leg, which necessitated an amputation.
She's never let being a tripod slow her down. She climbs the cat trees, runs, and plays without issues. She is the best supervisor around! When scooping her box she will come running to sit there and judge your work and even paws at the scoop if you're doing it incorrectly. When caring for other kittens she will also monitor you to ensure that is done correctly. She's not a fan of dogs and would prefer a feline only home.
Please contact us with any interest in Kala.
