Youth Day — Celebrating the Youth of Saugerties! 🦁💙
Today, August 12, the Saugerties Lions Club proudly celebrates the young people who are the future of our community.

We take great pride in supporting the youth of Saugerties in so many meaningful ways. Each year, we provide $8,000 in scholarships to local high school seniors, helping them pursue their future goals and dreams. Our support also reaches youth sports and the arts through multiple donations throughout the year. We are proud to help maintain the wading pool at Cantine Field and the Lions Club Playground, creating places where local children can play, grow, and make memories. We also believe that every child deserves access to nutritious food. That’s why we proudly support causes that help ensure no child goes hungry, including the Saugerties Backpack Program, which provides nutritious food to children who may need additional support after school.

The health and well-being of our children is another important part of our mission. We are proud to help ensure that annual vision screenings are provided to kindergarten students throughout Saugerties elementary schools, as well as children at local Saugerties daycares.

Supporting the youth in our community is more than a commitment—it is an investment in the future of Saugerties. ❤️ We are proud to serve, support, and invest in our community’s children today and for generations to come.

🦁 Happy World Lion Day — August 10! 🦁

Today, we celebrate the lion, a symbol of courage, strength, leadership, and unity. World Lion Day reminds us of the importance of protecting lions and the habitats they call home, so these magnificent animals can continue to thrive for generations to come. 🌍 As Lions, we can take inspiration from the lion. True leadership isn’t about standing alone—it’s about standing together, lifting others up, and having the courage to make a difference. When we work together in service, our impact can be greater than we ever imagined.

🦁 Fun fact: Lions are the only big cats that live in social groups called prides. They rely on teamwork to protect their territory, care for their young, and find food—a powerful reminder that we are stronger together!
