As of July 1st, Shell to Shore has officially recycled over 500k pounds of recycled oyster shells, to the tune of 513,459 pounds! All of this work could not have been possible without our relentless and enthusiastic community of staff, interns, fellows, volunteers, friends, advocates, sponsors, supporters and our always growing number of restaurant partners (now over 50 partners!)
From our very humble beginnings, over the last 5+ years, Shell to shore continues to grow, build new partnerships, engage communities, and expand oyster shell recycling efforts across the state. Together, we’re showing how something often viewed as waste can become part of a larger solution that supports healthier coastlines, stronger communities, and a more sustainable future.
If you haven’t yet worked with us, please do not hesitate to reach out! There is so much potential ahead. Together, we can continue building a stronger circular economy for coastal communities that reduces waste, encourages environmental stewardship, and demonstrates what’s possible when people come together around a shared purpose.
And don’t forget to…
Eat more oysters! Save your shells! Protect our coast!
