"In a partnership with Ray-Ban, Meta is offering free artificial intelligence (AI) glasses to the roughly more than 130,000 blind veterans nationwide. Meta said the AI technology will help visually impaired veterans read documents, navigate their surroundings, and lead them to a more independent life. Meta and its partners, along with the Blinded Veterans Association, will provide hands-on training to each veteran interested in using the glasses."

National Women Veterans Recognition Day is not a separate Veterans Day for women.

Instead, June 12 commemorates a historic milestone in our nation’s military history.

On June 12, 1948, President Harry S. Truman signed the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act, granting women the right to serve as permanent members of the United States Armed Forces.

Before this law, women served honorably during times of war and national need, but were generally expected to leave military service when the conflict ended.

Women have been serving our nation since the Revolutionary War, yet many Americans are unaware of the significance of June 12. National Women Veterans Recognition Day recognizes the generations of women whose service, sacrifice, and perseverance helped shape our military and our country.
