Congratulations on completing the design!

Ito Jakuchu (1716 – 1800) is a well-known Japanese painter of the mid-Edo period, whose paintings examine traditionally Japanese subjects, particularly birds. Many of his otherwise traditional works display a great degree of experimentation with perspective, details, and other very modern stylistic elements.

The stitchers are working on the kikko pattern.
In Japanese embroidery and textiles, the geometric kikko (turtle shell) pattern symbolizes longevity, good fortune, and protection. Based on interlocking hexagons mimicking a tortoise's shell, it reflects the Japanese folklore belief that turtles live for 10,000 years.
