Special thanks to our volunteers who helped with creating a digital index for our “Colma Project”. We are creating an index of 110+ volumes of burial records dating from 1899-2016. This will provide a searchable index of names for those deceased individuals recorded in those ledgers. Currently we are about 25% complete. More soon as we continue to make progress. Want to help? Message us about becoming a volunteer. Join our next in-person meeting on September 26, in the Oak Room at the San Mateo Public library. Coffee, treats, and conversation with fellow genealogists from 10 AM.

Thanks to Rep. Kevin Mullin for touring the National Archives at San Bruno and for Introducing legislation to block NARA from closing certain facilities without congressional approval. Access to the documents held in San Bruno is at risk. The scattering of these records wold be a blow to local ommunities. Rep Mullin commented during his press conference that shuttering the San Bruno facility would "dismantle access to our region's past."
