Yesterday at Ivey Ranch Park Association in Oceanside, we took on a garden plot of 3 foot tall stinging nettle weeds and we won! 💪🏼 (Barely!) The Association is in its 45th year of serving kids and adults with special needs with day programs, therapeutic riding and more as well as offering riding lessons to the public. The garden plots are available for the community to rent for $300 for the year and they free a source of income for the association. It’s a beautiful park!

🎄It’s time for one of San Elijo Hills Women’s Club’s favorite projects of the year! Solutions for Change is having their annual Jingle Bell Project where we can bless a family in need! (Collectiin deadline is 12/1)

It is with great pleasure that I write this post as we wrap up our 2025 San Elijo Women’s Club Charity Fundraiser. Next week we will present checks to Foundation for Women Warriors and to Single Mothers Student Success.

💥BECAUSE OF ALL WHO ATTENDED AND DONATED, WE ARE GIVING $8,100 TO EACH CHARITY!!! We raised $10,200 at the event and then the Fyfe Family donated $3,000 to each charity.

Our Board is a small group of passionate women dedicated to making a difference. I am very proud of the work we do and the joy we receive from being able to host this event and then give to those doing great work in our community.

💛BUT, most importantly, we could not give what we give without the extremely generous support of our community businesses, our community of supporters, our friends and family, the Arthur Q. Johnson Foundation who donated so we can hold the event at Henebery, the Fyfe Family and of course, Henebery Spirits for always making the evening happen.

We are thankful and grateful. We hope you were able to join us to hear from guests from the 2025 chosen charities. It is amazing to meet them, hear their stories and know the gratitude they feel for being chosen. If we didn’t see you this year, we sure hope you can make it in 2026!

Our Board member, Gwen Schvimmer, was interviewed about her experience as a Court Appointed Special Advocate with Voices for Children, an amazing organization that serves children in the foster system. Gwen is a dedicated CASA and because of her, we have learned more about this organization and were able to support them with donations from our 2024 charity fundraiser. They are now an organization, dear to our hearts. They are always looking for volunteers. Watch the clip and learn more about what a CASA does.

6th Annual SEHWC Women&Whiskey Charity Fundraiser, 09/20/2025!
We appreciate so many for helping us raise awareness and funds for the organizations doing so much good for our San Diego community.
And one thing is for sure!! We are so thankful for each and every person that buys a ticket, each person that brings a friend (or 12!), each person that shows up, each person that is smiling and having fun. YOU ALL PUT THE FUN IN FUNDRAISING!

Appreciation post!
We had a FANTASTIC event Saturday with an amazing group of supporters, the band rock n rolled and we are very, very close to meeting our goal of raising $12,000 to donate to our 2025 charities!
We try to keep our speeches short the night of the event so the fun can keep going, but I really want to express the immense gratitude I have for our Board. I feel so lucky to work alongside these women whose hearts are like gold.
🎸LouAnne created the super awesome Rock n Roll Wheel, decorated the wheel prize bags as well as put all the auction items into beautiful arrangements. She is so creative and organized!
📋Gwen collected auction items, worked on monetary donations and kept us organized and on track through the planning and especially on the night of the event! She is our detail gal and we appreciate her!
🏎️Kimberly Burns is our go get em girl! She is so good at going into the community and getting auction items that make the big bucks.
🤘🏼And Kim Stewart singlehandedly transformed Henebery Spirits into a rock n roll world! Her super creative centerpieces, the memorabilia! So many guests commented on how great the place looked! So creative she is!
💛Besides the many hours they spend helping to put on the Women&Whiskey Charity Fundraiser and the volunteering we do as a club, these 4 women spend countless hours supporting Casa de Amparo, Operation Hope and Voices For Children.
💕It is a privilege to know them and to be able to work with them.
