On June 23, 2026, the City of San Diego officially proclaimed Alliance for African Assistance Day, as proclaimed by Mayor Todd Gloria, in recognition of the organization's decades of dedicated service to refugees, immigrants, and underserved communities.

This special honor was announced during our 26th Annual World Refugee Day Celebration, making the day even more meaningful as we celebrated hope, resilience, and the incredible contributions of refugees.
