Dad Loses Fight for Haunted House That Funds Hospice Care for Daughter (Exclusive)

Earlier this month, Augie Cowan announced that the Caitlin Manor Haunted House had been closed down by the city of San Bernardino. For more than a decade, the event has helped fund medical care for his daughter, who was diagnosed with metachromatic leukodystrophy as a toddler.

I want to thank everyone for you support for my daughter. The two days were fun and nice to see everyone. Not alot of people came this year due to people thinking it was closed down still. Went well last night. Crowd was light compared to previous years but fun. Last night tonight maybe for Good in California
Looking out of state. If you haven't seen Caitlin Manor it's definitely worth it. One of our best this year.

I have Good news for everyone. We will have our traditional Haunted House on Halloween and Saturday November 1st for Dia De Los Mu***os (Day of the Dead) Holiday. It looks like no Caitlin Manor Haunted House this year. I was informed that the fundraiser community Haunted House won't be approved. In 2022 they City approved the Haunted House on 4th Street just a half block away. This time instead of helping i got a list three times bigger of things to do. As the media died down the city officials disappeared. No more replys back. San Bernardinohas destroyed Caitlin Manor and my daughter's fundraiser. Nobody really cares it seems. I don't like there tactics and targeting to hurt my daughter's fundraiser and the community Haunted House. I was expecting a solution but all i got was a list 2 miles longer than the first one from code enforcement. I apologize to everyone who was looking forward to the Haunted House this year

We met with city officials yesterday and are waiting to see if we can open this weekend. They said could be possible with a few changes. My daughter and I are hopeful..We are waiting for there response. 🤞
