College access has been an important part of that story. So have leadership development, civic engagement, advocacy, community partnerships, and strengthening institutions and organizations.

Twenty years of experience has also taught us something important:
The greatest community challenges cannot be solved by one organization acting alone.

Are you ready to use your creative voice to drive real social impact?

BLU Educational Foundation is excited to announce applications are officially open for the Artivism Cohort & Community Showcase—a six-month arts and advocacy initiative running from November 2026 through April 2027.

This program is designed to empower Inland Empire artists to leverage their practice as a tool for storytelling, advocacy, community dialogue, and social impact.

Cohort Participants Will:
-Explore social justice and advocacy through art
-Build creative and leadership skills
-Create individual and collaborative projects
-Share work at a culminating community showcase
-Receive a $500 stipend

The Inland Empire is home to one of the fastest-growing Black populations in California, yet too often, our efforts to create change happen in silos. Across Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, dedicated leaders work tirelessly every day, but change requires a unified regional strategy.

As co-conveners of M.E.C.C.A.-IE, we are launching the Inland Empire Black Future Agenda—a community-driven blueprint for action and accountability—and we need your voice in the room.

We are calling on residents, community leaders, faith leaders, entrepreneurs, and educators to join us for an upcoming Community Convening.

Together, we can establish a shared vision that ensures Black residents thrive across every sector. Join us and shape the future of our region.
