The Public Lands Rule, a modern framework for ensuring America’s public lands are managed for the long haul has been rescinded.

Thousands of people made their voices heard in support of this rule. They asked that conservation, wildlife habitat, clean water, cultural resources, and Indigenous Knowledge be fully considered alongside development. That public record was ignored.

It’s a real loss, but the Bureau of Land Management’s legal duty to manage these lands for long-term health doesn’t disappear. We’ll hold them to that responsibility.
