Round 2… and the kids wanted a rematch! 💦🚒

For the second time, the kids in our community challenged the Salt Lick Fire Department to a water fight. We hate to brag, but we’re pretty sure we came out on top this time! 😄

Between the water flying, the laughter echoing, and everyone getting completely soaked, it’s safe to say the real winners were all the smiling faces.

After the battle, everyone refueled with pizza and cake, leaving with full bellies, soaked clothes, and memories that will last a lifetime.

The City of Salt Lick and the Salt Lick Fire Department sure know how to throw a party! Thank you to everyone who came out and made another community event one to remember. We can’t wait for the next challenge! 💙🚒

There may have been a little friendly water fight at Special Needs Camp yesterday… and we’re not saying the campers won, but we’re also not saying they didn’t! 💦🚒

It was an honor to spend the day helping everyone cool off, share some laughs, and make a few unforgettable memories. The smiles, excitement, and joy on everyone’s faces made it a day we’ll never forget.

Thank you to the campers, families, staff, and volunteers for welcoming us. We can’t wait to come back and do it all again—just be ready, because we’ll have the hoses! ❤️

🚒 Recognition of Service 🚒

On June 30, members of the Salt Lick Fire Department, along with firefighters from our neighboring departments, were recognized for their dedicated service to our communities.

Each member received a Certificate of Appreciation, while thirteen individuals were honored with the prestigious Kentucky Colonel Award. We are proud to announce that seven members of the Salt Lick Fire Department were among those receiving this distinguished honor.

These dedicated members have collectively served our community for more than 30 years, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to protecting and serving others. Their countless hours of sacrifice, training, and service have made a lasting impact on the citizens we serve.

Please join us in congratulating these deserving members and thanking all firefighters who continue to answer the call whenever our community needs them.

..ELEVATED FIRE DANGER THROUGH THIS EVENING...

Low to very low humidities, very dry fuels, and breezy conditions
will combine to result in Elevated Fire Danger through this
evening. Winds will subside and humidities will gradually recover
after sunset.

Remember that Kentucky regulations make it illegal to burn
between the hours of 6 AM and 6 PM within 150 feet of a woodland
or brushland during the Spring Forest Fire Season that runs until
April 30th.
