Leonard’s Creek Chapter members attended the NSDAR North Carolina District IV annual meeting in Clemmons. Attendees participated in the business session and chapters recognization. An original presentation of “Letters From Home” in honor of America250! from the talented Erinn Dearth, Dan Beckmann, and Serah Frack was a highlight of the day.

Leonard's Creek Chapter NSDAR member, Lisa Fletcher, recently presented an educational program to children at the North Davidson Public Library. Dressed in the fashion of ladies of the Revolutionary War era, she discussed chores and children's education during that period. Each child received gardening materials, parchment paper to practice penmanship, oranges with cloves as a “colonial air freshener“ (which they made), and a handprint activity as a keepsake for America’s 250. She donated a book to the library on behalf of our chapter and read it to them as well. The library provided tea, lemonade, and water, as well as cookies and other refreshments.

Join us in thanking our Past Regent Susan Weaver for her five years of service as regent. Susan has led us with grace, enthusiasm, and wisdom. But, not to worry, we aren’t letting go of her. She will continue as a chapter officer in the role of corresponding secretary.

Once a DAR sister, always a DAR sister. 🇺🇸

Flag Day is an annual observance celebrated in the United States on June 14 to commemorate the adoption of the American flag. On this day in 1777, the Second Continental Congress officially resolved that the national flag would feature 13 alternating red and white stripes and 13 white stars on a blue field.

Mark your calendars for this very important day. Our Daughters of the American Revolution chapter will sponsor Pilgrim Reformed Church at noon and Mt Tabor UCC at 3:00 pm. The live evergreen wreaths are $17 each. Please support this effort to ensure every veteran in these two cemeteries is remembered and honored.

The fifth of six ceremonies to honor Revolutionary War patriots will take place on April 4 at Pilgrim Reformed Church’s cemetery.

Patriot grave-marker dedications will be performed by the N.C. Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, beginning at 10 a.m. The first of the six ceremonies took place in November 2024.

Being honored during the April 4 ceremony are George Clodfelter, Michael Easter, Michael Leonard, Col. John Lopp, Freidrick Michael, and Johann “John” Sink.

At our February monthly meeting, we recognized Pilgrim Reformed Church for its support of Leonard's Creek Chapter. A check was presented by Vice Regent, Kathy Hunt to the church. An honorary HODAR (Husband of Daughters of the American Revolution) and a certificate expressed appreciation to the Pilgrim Reformed Church pastor, Rev. Richard Moore, for his ongoing assistance to the chapter, especially during the annual Wreaths Across America event.
