The Greater Salisbury Committee mission is to identify opportunities and serve as a catalyst to improve the community. Ever engaged.

The Greater Salisbury Committee is made up of business, educational, institutional and non-profit leaders who are dedicated to identifying the community's needs and challenges, and offering solutions. The GSC membership has been instrumental in establishing such entities as Wor-Wic Community College; the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore; Salisbury-Wicomico Economic Development; Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore; Salisbury Neighborhood Housing Services (SNHS); the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS). It's currently active in many other areas: Lower Shore Wind; the creation of a Community Development Corporation; helping with the At-risk student population; and working with the Wicomico Board of Education to help with its mentor shortage. Ideas and energy are part of GSC's mission. Ever moving the community forward.

New Member Spotlight: Amy Sorg, Group Executive Director at the YMCA of the Chesapeake

Amy serves as Group Executive Director for the YMCA of the Chesapeake, overseeing multiple branches and supporting programs and initiatives that strengthen communities across the Lower Shore.

With more than 25 years at the YMCA, Amy is passionate about community service and creating opportunities for individuals and families. She was also recently appointed to the Recreation and Parks Commission, furthering her commitment to our region.
