Mid Shore Y-Tri

Mid Shore Y-Tri The Mid-shore Y-Tri program was started by Nora Mears and Laura Hunsberger in February 2008 in preparation for the Nanticoke Triathlon. Give it a “Tri”.

Both were looking to build a training resource at the YMCA for all levels of interest. Now in its third season, Y-Tri offers instruction for individuals looking to complete their first triathlon to seasoned triathletes wanting some tech work or to train with their multisport buddies. Y-Tri coaches and mentors are triathletes themselves. The program turns an individual sport in to a community of te

ammates all working through the same apprehensions. Most participants start the program with very little experience. Some are marginal swimmers, many have never ridden a “skinny tire” road bike and others may have never run past the mail box. That’s ok and that’s who we want. We keep it fun but over the course of 15 weeks you get very well prepared for a triathlon. Our results are impressive because of the commitment that grows within the group. In 2010, at the Nanticoke, MD and Pocomoke, MD triathlons, every Y-tri athlete that entered the races finished with fantastic personal results.

Delmarva Dogfish Mid Shore Y-Tri represented at Pocomoke this weekend and I have Zero pictures …. Sorry I was busy being the hype man 🤠🤠. Bill Snyder was 2nd out of the water and only 1 of 2 men that Erika Vogel and 3 other women did not pass - the men had a 2 minute head start 😳😳. Bill and Erika both won their age groups thanks of course to my “race day coaching” 🙄🙄 and Mark and Michele’s cheering 🤣🤣.
