From a sensory-friendly theatre performance to a relaxing afternoon in the gardens and a sparkling Senior Prom, we can't wait to share these special experiences with our community.

🌿☀️ Join us for a special Summer Stroll at Hidden Lake Gardens! ☀️🌿

We're excited to partner with Hidden Lake Gardens, the Alzheimer's Association, and the Lenawee County Department on Aging for a welcoming, dementia-friendly afternoon designed for individuals living with dementia and their care partners.

Take a peaceful stroll through the beautiful gardens, enjoy live music, participate in creative activities, and connect with valuable community resources in a relaxed and supportive environment.

We’re hitting the road, please join us!

On Wednesday, June 17th, The Encore Theater is holding a Sensory Friendly Performance of Fiddler on the Roof. This is the Encore's second "Friendly" event; the first, a showing of Annie in 2024, received rave reviews.

This is a ticketed event. Tickets are available now by calling The Encore’s box office at 734-268-6200 Tuesday-Friday 10am-2pm. However, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy programs like this. Thanks to donor support, we are able to offer a limited number of complimentary tickets to DFS community members, and a family member(s) and/or caregiver. Please contact Chelsea at [email protected] to request a complimentary ticket(s).

Please note that, due to this event, our regularly scheduled Memory Cafe is cancelled.

🎬 Tickets are now available for the dementia-friendly showing of A River Runs Through It on June 16th at 2:00 PM, hosted by the Henry Ford Giant Screen Experience.

Guests can purchase tickets online by visiting the Henry Ford admission page, selecting “Giant Screen Experience,” clicking “Buy Tickets,” and choosing June 16th on the calendar.
