We’ve made some updates at Bridgeway, and we want to make sure you know where to find us! 💙

With the opening of our Front Street Medical Center earlier this year and the upcoming expansion of outpatient services at Harold Drive, we know there have been a lot of updates to keep track of.

In this video, Melinda Hills shares a quick reminder about two important developments:

📍 Medically Managed Withdrawal (MMW) has moved! Our MMW program relocated from Harold Drive to our new Front Street Medical Center in June. Individuals seeking medically supported withdrawal services can now access care at 750 Front St. NE in Salem.

📍 Outpatient services are expanding to Harold Drive! Beginning November 2, our longtime Harold Drive location at 3325 Harold Dr. NE will begin offering outpatient treatment services, providing another location for individuals seeking care in Northeast Salem.

While we’re making updates to our locations and expanding access to care, our commitment to serving our community remains the same.

We want everyone to feel confident knowing where to go and how to access the support they need.

🎥 Watch as Melinda walks through these updates and helps clarify what they mean for our community!

💙 More locations. More opportunities to access care.

A safe place to sober up. A new opportunity to connect with care. 💙

Last week, members of the Bridgeway Community Health team traveled to St. Louis, Missouri, for the 2026 National Sobering Collaborative Sobering Summit, joining professionals from across the country to share ideas, experiences, and solutions for advancing sobering care.

But what exactly is a sobering station, and why does it matter?

Sobering stations provide a safe, medically supervised environment for individuals experiencing acute intoxication who don’t require emergency hospitalization. They offer an alternative to unnecessary emergency department visits or incarceration while helping connect individuals to treatment and recovery resources.

Because sobering care isn’t just about getting someone through the moment. It’s about helping them take the next step.

We’re especially proud of our Director of Medical Services, Doug Cox, who facilitated the summit’s closing session, bringing attendees together to share lessons learned, practical ideas, and encouragement for the future of sobering care.

As we continue working toward establishing Salem’s Sobering Station, we’re bringing home valuable insights, renewed motivation, and a shared commitment to creating another entry point into Bridgeway’s continuum of care.

We’re excited for what’s ahead and grateful to be learning alongside others who share our vision for healthier, stronger communities!

What is addiction, really?

Addiction is often misunderstood as a lack of willpower or simply a matter of making different choices. But understanding addiction means looking beyond those assumptions and recognizing the complex health condition behind it.

Sarah Hadfield, PA-C at Bridgeway Community Health, breaks down what addiction is and helps shed light on a condition that continues to carry significant stigma.

The more we understand addiction, the better equipped we are to respond with compassion, support effective treatment, and make it easier for people to reach out for help. 💙

What’s one thing you wish more people understood about addiction?

Honoring Indigenous Peoples' Day.

Today, we recognize and celebrate the histories, cultures, contributions, and enduring presence of Indigenous peoples.

At Bridgeway Community Health, we also want to take a moment to acknowledge the land on which we serve our community.

Our Front Street Medical Center in Salem, Oregon, stands within the traditional homelands of the Kalapuya people. Today, Kalapuya descendants are members of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde and the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, whose connections to these lands continue.

We recognize the generations of Indigenous peoples who have cared for this land, the injustices and displacement they have experienced, and the strength of the communities who continue to preserve their cultures, traditions, and identities.

As a community healthcare organization, we believe cultural humility begins with listening, learning, and recognizing the histories and experiences of the people and communities around us.

Today and every day, we honor Indigenous peoples — past, present, and future — and recognize our responsibility to continue learning and fostering care rooted in dignity, respect, and understanding.

Our time together has almost come to a close.

The Summit “Share Out” session sponsored by Bridgeway Community Health was a great time to highlight local success stories, share practical tips with fellow providers and stakeholders, and reflect on what we’ve learned during our time in St. Louis.

You don’t have to wait until things feel unbearable to reach out for support.

Mental health care isn’t only for moments of crisis. Sometimes, reaching out starts with simply noticing that something feels different.

Maybe you’re struggling to get through the day. Your sleep or routines have changed. You’re withdrawing from people or things you usually enjoy. Your emotions feel harder to manage. Or maybe you just recognize that you haven’t felt like yourself lately.

You don’t need to have a diagnosis. You don’t need to have everything figured out. And you don’t need to prove that what you’re experiencing is “bad enough” to deserve support.

During Mental Illness Awareness Week, we want to remind our community that it’s okay to reach out when you first recognize that you could use some support.

At Bridgeway Community Health, we’re here to meet you where you are and help you explore the support that’s right for you. 💙

There’s more to mental illness than what you can see. 💙

Mental health struggles don’t have one “look.” Someone can show up to work, laugh with friends, care for their family, meet their responsibilities — and still be living with a mental health condition.

During Mental Illness Awareness Week, we’re challenging some of the assumptions and stigma that can make it harder to talk openly about mental health.

Understanding matters. So does how we respond.

Listen without judgment. Take someone’s experience seriously. Lead with compassion. Encourage support when it’s needed. And remember that someone doesn’t have to reach a breaking point before seeking mental health care.

The more we understand mental health, the better we can support the people around us — and help create communities where asking for help feels safe.

💬 What’s one thing you wish more people understood about mental health?
