It’s Wednesday! And to those who brought food for the dry pantry—thank you! And to the rest of you—we need more! ☺️

This is an EAGLE Charter School pickup day and pickup we did! The bananas are heading to banana bread territory so drop off some food and pick up some bananas for banana bread. Or banana cake.

I looked at the weather forecast over the weekend and thought I should shut down the garden before the rain Wednesday. Did I check the forecast again? No. 🤦🏼‍♀️

So I saved the best ones for the produce stand. The green tomatoes (for frying and pickling) are Brandywine and the small ones are Oregon (developed for our growing season). The ones just starting to ripen WILL ripen in a sunny window.

I have lived here long enough to know better than to rely on a week old forecast! 🙄

We need food in the pantry. It’s empty now! Thank you neighbors!!!

Must be fall because EAGLE Charter School is back in session! Today they had something that looked like Italian prune plums in addition to the mundane apples and oranges! I decided I should have one to make sure they really were prune plums. Six plums later, I can assure you that is precisely what they are and they are perfectly ripe and delicious!!!

Also, Neighbor Pam, visiting from out of town, dropped some food off for the pantry! Encourage YOUR out of town visitors to be like Neighbor Pam!
