Headline: Willow Has Found Her Forever! 😭🩷🐾

Four homes. Four different situations. Four times my heart broke as things just didn't work out. I’ll admit it, guys I was completely panicking. I was starting to wonder if Willow was somehow "too difficult" or if we would ever find the right fit for her.

And then, out of absolutely nowhere, I received a tiny, incredibly brief email. Just a name and a phone number with a note saying they were interested in Willow. At first? I thought it was fake. But I was at a point where I had to take every single chance for her. I took a deep breath, risked it, and made the call.

Wow, am I glad I did.

It turns out one of our amazing followers had been watching Willow’s journey. He knew his neighbor would be the perfect fit, so he showed her Willow's pictures. Before we could even arrange a meet-and-greet, she told him, “I’ve been thinking about Willow, and I want her.”

Still thinking it was all way too good to be true, I brought Willow over. It was absolute love at first sight. 😍

It’s been a few weeks now, and Willow is officially thriving as a spoiled indoor dog. She gets all the attention, all the love, and the exact home she always deserved.

Willow has always been one of my absolute favorites. She is a good girl polite in public, sweet to every person and pet she has ever met on our outings. I will still never fully understand why the other situations didn't work out, but I can finally say that this time, Willow is home.

Right when I was about to give up hope, that email arrived. Never doubt perfect timing. Welcome home, Willow! 🏡✨🩷

Sunday Reflections: Admitting You're Wrong is Part of the Journey. 🐾💔

As rescuers, we walk into this with our own beliefs, our own boundaries, and our own ideas of how things "should" be done. But if rescue teaches you anything, it’s that the rescue world will humble you, break your heart, and force you to look at the bigger picture even when it's painful.

I have always been open about my personal stance against late-term abortions (spay/neuter terminations) in cats. I didn't believe in it. But today, reality handed me a devastating, heartbreaking lesson, and I am choosing to be vulnerable enough to admit my own ignorance.

I was wrong to view this through a limited prospective. The reality of cat overpopulation, feral suffering, and maternal trauma is massive, and sometimes preventing the cycle from continuing is the truest form of mercy and protection we can offer them.

When we know better, we do better. Unfortunately it took me seeing a bad situation with my own eyes to realize this. While it is still not my thing, I respect the people who make those hard choices.

Remember our longest foster and most expensive dog to date still needs a forever home. Poor Groot hasn’t had one adoption application. I’ve been told maybe it’s because of his size? BUT we want to assure you he’s really not that big. He weighs a lot because he’s stout, but he’s not a giant dog by any means. After everything he’s been through, he deserves a happy ending.

I just wanted to give everyone an update on our girls, Izzy and Delilah. They are both doing well after surgery. Izzy had thirteen teeth removed 🤯. Poor girl, she will feel much better once she's healed. 🩷 They're still a bit sleepy but good. Leonardo Leyva

It's another big vet day! Delilah will be spayed today, and Izzy is having her dental done. Big hugs to our girls, and 🤞 everything goes well. Izzy's teeth are so bad; I know that in the long run, she's going to feel so much better. Taking in five animals at once from the same household was tough financially, so there's no way we can take on anything else right now. Between Willow (she's still limping) having an appointment on Monday and all the puppies' second visit coming up, even with the donations, we're back to zero. It never ends. 🫪 We still have a kitty we haven't introduced yet, Tommy. His story is very sad, and he still needs a vet visit. Oh, and Petra - don't forget she quite possibly needs an amputation. Rescue never ends, and neither does the money situation.😅
