HAP showed up strong on the national stage!
Last week, our team joined community development leaders from across the country at the 2026 National CAPACD Building CAPACD Convention—and HAP’s presence reflected the many ways our leaders are helping shape the future of our communities.
✨ Leadership at the table: HAP President & CEO May Yer ThaoThao joined the National CAPACD Board of Directors this year, bringing HAP’s perspective and the voices of Hmong and Southeast Asian American communities into national conversations and decision-making.
🎤 Sharing from the field: May yer also joined the standing-room-only “Adapting Through Volatility” workshop as a panelist, sharing how HAP is navigating uncertainty, adapting in real time, and continuing to lead through an increasingly complex environment.
🏛️ Developing leaders for greater impact: Ger Thao, Economic Prosperity Director, was selected as a 2026 Community in the Capital Fellow, strengthening their advocacy and policy leadership while connecting community experience to national policy conversations.
🌱 Investing in the next generation: Rose Say, MNsure Lead, was also selected as a National CAPACD Next Gen Scholarship Recipient, creating another pathway for emerging leadership, learning, and connection across the national AANHPI community development field.
