SOAR Regional Arts

SOAR Regional Arts SOAR stands for the communities of St. Michael, Otsego, Albertville and Rogers, MN. Their first show was W***y Wonka the musical in the summer of 2012.

In the fall of 2011, like-minded individuals, recognizing a need for quality community theater in these communities, pooled their talents, expertise and experience to form SOAR Arts. SOAR Academy was added in 2013 to provide a quality teaching experience to the kids in our communities. In 2014 SOAR Academy doubled in size! We announced the addition of our Teen Advisory Group (TAG) in the summer of

2014. The board as well as general members will produce their own shows every summer moving forward. The future of SOAR Regional Arts will provide an even broader spectrum of opportunities for these communities This vision includes SOAR’s individual space, which will include a music school offering private and group lessons, as well as a performance venue.

🎭 Story Time Theater starts NEXT WEEK! 🎭
Give your little one a summer adventure filled with imagination, creativity, and fun! Designed for ages 4–6, Story Time Theater helps young performers build confidence, social skills, and a love of storytelling through games, music, movement, and creative play.

✨ Meet the instructors who will be bringing these stories to life!

Kelsey Frederick:
Kelsey is absolutely thrilled to be back for Story Time Theater this summer! She has been involved both on and offstage with SOAR since second grade and recently graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a degree in Psychology. Kelsey currently works in child development research while teaching at the Saint Peter Community Childcare Center and is excited to share her love of theater with the youngest members of the SOAR family this summer.

Maggie Berendes:
Maggie is so excited to be back spending the summer with her SOAR family! A 2024 graduate of STMA, she is currently pursuing her BFA in Musical Theatre at Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She is looking forward to meeting new people and sharing her love of theater with the community this summer!

One act of kindness can make a big difference.

Payton recently set a goal: raise enough money through a garage sale to help another child participate in a SOAR summer program.
We're so proud to share that she reached her goal! 🎉

As a member of the cast of our very first Academy production in 2013, Logan has been part of the SOAR family from the beginning.

Over the years, we've had the privilege of watching him grow through TEN Academy shows, TAG, camps, and other SOAR productions. We couldn't be more excited to see him selected as a Hennepin Arts Spotlight Triple Threat!

Congratulations, Logan! We are so proud of all you've accomplished and grateful that SOAR has been a small part of your journey. We'll be cheering you on at the Spotlight Showcase tonight and tomorrow. Break a leg!
