It’s been five years since we lost our daughter Kyra Marie Winslow. It’s been the hardest five years our my lives. The Lord has blessed us with 4 amazing grandchildren (with another on the way), which has helped our healing. Along with that, the love and support we have received from our family, friends and community alike, gets us through each and everyday.

I hope all of us can take a moment to reflect on Kyra’s Pledge:

This seems very easy to do, and some would even say it’s common sense Yet I know I need to remind myself of this Pledge daily, and sometimes hourly.

Special thanks go out to Hung Nguyen and the crew at everyone’s favorite restaurant: LOTUS in Maple Grove. This was Kyra’s favorite! They have amazing food & services, and no details are lost in their amazing catering services. They truly hit it out of the park!

They catered Kyra’s graduation party, her funeral, her 6 month celebration, and every birthday since she went home to God. We will continue to enjoy LOTUS in Maple Grove every year on Kyra’s birthday.

A special “Thank You” goes out to Chris Sauer and the Gang.

I looked out our bay window this evening, to admire the start of another amazing sunset over the 10th fairway at Cedar Creek Golf Course in Albertville, MN.

That’s when I noticed a new sign that’s posted on the 11th tee box. “In Memory Of Kyra Winslow” it reads, with a beautiful picture of my baby girl and a Pledge Coin that dawns her Pledge: SMILE OFTEN, LAUGH LOUD, BE POSITIVE & IMPROVE DAILY.

Kyra worked as a beverage cart girl at the golf course one summer. Let’s face it, to all who had the luxury of knowing Kyra, we all witnessed how truly amazing she was in all aspects of life. Well, maybe she could’ve had a better work ethic, but she sure gave 100% to break time, and socializing with the golfers. She played much harder than she worked, that’s for sure!

This makes this gesture even more so amazing. I absolutely love my STMA Community. Chris Sauer: I am humbled, yet again.
