⛳️ LWAA Golf Tournament a Big Success in Lafayette! ⛳️

This past Saturday, the Louisiana Wildlife Agents Association hosted a fantastic golf tournament at The Wetlands Golf Course in Lafayette. With more than 140 players in attendance, the event turned out to be an incredible day of fellowship, competition, and support for the Association.

The LWAA Cook Team kicked off the morning by preparing breakfast for all players, while Community Coffee kept everyone energized by serving coffee. The weather turned out great, allowing players to enjoy everything the tournament had to offer.

In addition to golf, participants took part in several exciting events including the Virtual Golf Simulator, Charity Golf Guns AR-15 Launcher, Hole Hecklers Commentators, Bottle Putt, Longest Drive Competition, Closest to the Hole, and the Helicopter Ball Drop.

Throughout the day, players enjoyed food prepared by ARL Construction and Uncle T’s Oyster Bar, as well as drinks served at various holes around the course. After returning to the clubhouse, the fun continued with raffle prize giveaways and live music by Dustin Sonnier. Prizes were awarded to the top five teams, as well as winners from the day’s contests. 🏆

One of the highlights of the afternoon was the drawing for the Suzuki outboard motor, generously donated by Redmond’s Marine, which made for an exciting conclusion to a spectacular day.

Agents from Region 4 recently participated in the Williamson Memorial Annual Clay Tournament, representing the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and the Louisiana Wildlife Agents Association.

The LWAA was proud to sponsor the four-man team and support such a meaningful event and foundation. The Patrick Williamson Memorial Foundation supports organizations that reflect Patrick’s values of education, patriotism, and community service. Much of the funding raised helps provide adaptive vehicles to military service members who were seriously injured while serving our country, giving them greater independence and mobility.

The Association is honored to stand alongside organizations that support our nation’s veterans and strengthen our communities. Events like this are a great opportunity to give back while enjoying time with partners who share those same values.

This week, some of our LDWF agents participated in a multi-agency training alongside Louisiana State Police’s Critical Response Emergency Search Team (CREST). Instruction was provided by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations with the training placing a strong emphasis on land navigation skills critical to emergency response operations.

The LWAA was proud to support this joint effort by providing cooking services and sponsoring lunch for one of the training days using our mobile grill system.

Opportunities like this not only enhance the skills of our agents, but also strengthen the partnerships between agencies across Louisiana. The LWAA is honored to play a role in supporting the men and women who serve and protect our communities.

Connecting With Those Who Served 🟢⚜️

The Louisiana Wildlife Agents Association was proud to host a special event dedicated to our retired Wildlife Agents at the LDWF Training Academy campus.

Attendees enjoyed a guided tour of LDWF’s Training and Emergency Response Complex, reconnecting with the advancements shaping the department today. Retirees also had the opportunity to work alongside department fi****ms instructors to complete their annual POST fi****ms qualifications.

Of course, no LWAA event is complete without great food! The Association’s cook team delivered, providing a fantastic lunch for everyone in attendance. In addition to providing lunch, the LWAA donated a shotgun for the event which was won by one lucky retiree!

One of the most meaningful parts of the day was the chance for retirees to reunite with former coworkers, allowing for the sharing of stories and catching up after years apart. Attendees also spent time with Col. Stephen Clark who discussed the continued growth and evolution of LDWF.

This event was a tremendous success, and we are proud to continue supporting those who dedicated their careers to protecting Louisiana’s natural resources. Events like this will remain a priority moving forward.

A sincere thank you to all who attended, as well as the current agents who volunteered their time to make this day possible.

We value the connection we maintain with our retired agents and encourage everyone to stay involved. Thank you all for a great time—we look forward to the next one!
